Hi everyone!

I've been on SparkPeople for over a year now, and the last 2 months have been really been emotional. I have gained back all the weight I lost and I have started over this time I will suceed because I am not going to give up on a healthier me! I am looking forward to being a part of this team.

We have similar goals (and I also have a teenager)! I just saw my doctor this week to review recent lab work and she's thinking of putting me on cholesterol lowering medication. I'd really like to get serious about diet and exercise so I can avoid the medication. I need to lose about 15 lbs. I have lost weight with Sparkpeople in the past, but have been off the site for several years and my weight has crept back up. Good luck!

Hi and welcome back. I think I joined SP three times prior before I actually started to make some changes. For some reason I wasn't ready to commit. This time was different and I wish I could say what made it that way. Hope this is the real thing for you too. I agress with CADREAMER - make small changes first or you might get frustrated. Looking back, I maybe walked for 10 minutes at first, then increased it to 20, 30,etc. Now I run about 5k and I play squash. But I did zero exercise until I first made changes with what and how much I eat. Especially important for me was (is) the water. Anyway, best of luck. I also suffer with anxiety and can get depressed at times. My symptoms are much better since I have started taking care of myself.

Welcome to the team!! The only real guidance or advice that I can give is to make small changes and build on your successes. You also might try keeping a journal if you don't already, I find that mine really helps me deal with the emotional aspects of this journey. And I find that it helps if you really want it and really commit to it.

I'm new, kind of. I've been on and off SparkPeople three times now, but am hoping that the third times the charm. I'm a single parent of two teenagers (HELP!!). I deal with depression/anxiety every day, as well as emotional eating. My goal is to lose 25 pounds in the hopes that it will help with some of the issues I've mentioned. Any guidance and encouragement would be appreciated!!!
