A century IS big! I haven't managed to do one yet, and with this summer being mostly triathlons and a big vacation break I don't think I will manage it this year. I'm hoping to get there one year, though!
Right back at ya! I am a bit jealous at the trainer you have, I have a Magtrainer which is a step below yours...however what ever gets us riding, right? I have ridden in two centuries, my first was a disappointing 67 miles but great for my first time, my second one last year I completed. Boy did that feel amazing! There are a lot of websites that talk about how to train for a century, mostly it is about time in the saddle. I few things I learned, first find the comfort early this includes saddle, pedals etc., fuel your body right (you will know when you don't), learn the terrain you will be riding and if you can ride the route do it, it helps tremendously. Welcome! We're a little more light-hearted than the bigger cycling team, but a lot of us are deadly serious about our cycling passion. Hang out, read the old topics, lurk for a bit if you like. Well, truth be told, I might make fun of you know & then, but only if I think you can handle it. But everyone else is pretty nice.

Hi and welcome to the group! There are a lot of different riders here: some commuters, some triathloners, some training for centuries, most kind of a mix. Hello guys, Iím a new member tto this team and new to road cycling; I purchased my bike in May 2013 and was able to do a few rides when time allowed. I got a trainer for Christmas (CycleOps Fluid 2) and now my goal is to train to do a century in September 2014. Iím hopeful to become more active, lose a lot of weight and meet many wonderful people along the way. Iím here to give and receive support and motivation.
