I didn't make it 30 days with my 1st challenge that I set for myself, which was to eat only fruits/veggies as one of my meals. I ended up changing it to staying within my calorie range, which I did pretty well. I only went over a few days and that totally showed on the scale.

emoticon Robin with making it 30 days of achieving your goal. Do you consider it a habit now to get in a nice stretch at the end or beginning of your day?

Hey Robin, WTG with keeping up your stretching. I must say, i don't do enough of that. By chance does your spot have an online site that possibly list their nutritional facts? Do you have a food scale? If you do, one day you could take home what you order and weigh out each item. You'll only have to do it once per dish ordered because then you could just copy and paste from one day to the next. Not sure if your up to doing that, LOL

hey team! so the stretching is coming along great......i feel so good sleeping...my body is so relax....and not stiff in the morning...im feeling really good....

Dtoney! you have your calories down packed! half the stuff i eat i dont even know how many calories it is..for example for lunch today i went to a Halal cart (only in NYC lol) and got a side salad of lettuce and tomatoes.....rice (it wasnt white or brown rice....but it was brown lol) and diced up pieces of lamb with broccoli mixed in....a touch of cucumber sauce and hotsauce.....now how am i suppose to log this in!!! lol sometimes i think i cheat myself on the calories....any strategies to log more accurately?

Dinner: Baked Salmon, rice w/ mixed veggies
Snack: Popcorn, Dove Dark Chocolate Rose
Total Calories: 1301

Tuesday
Breakfast: Cream of wheat
Lunch: Baked Salmon & rice
Dinner: Salmon stir fry w/ Broccoli, Colliflower, Carrots, Onions, Garlic & Tomatoes
Snack: Popcorn
Total Calories: 1165

Wednesday
Breakfast: Cream of wheat
Lunch: PB&J Sandwich w/ peach yogurt
Dinner: Salmon stir fry w/ mixed veggies
Snack: Popcorn
Total Calories: 1238

Thursday
Breakfast: Corn Flakes w/ 1% Milk
Lunch: Cream of wheat, 3 hours later PB&J Sandwich
Dinner: Salmon stir fry w/ mixed veggies
Snack: Popcorn
Total Calories: 1291

Yesterday was another successful day for me with burning over 600 calories and staying in my calorie range.

Late Breakfast: Corn Flakes w/ 1% Milk
Dinner: King Fish, rice & mixed veggies
Snack: Popcorn & Chocolate Rose

Total Calories 1301

I turned away the heart chocolates box my husband bought for me, but just had to have my chocolate rose. emoticon

Hey Robyn, I always say I need an activity that I love to keep me moving. Most of my activities besides work are with the kids. Keep enjoying your dancing! emoticon

Yesterday, was another healthy day for me. I managed to get in a great interval training on my treadmill first thing in the morning. Then I kept my calories low by keeping myself out of the kitchen. This whole thing is a mind game and I have to let it know who's boss.

Breakfast/Lunch: Cream of Wheat
Dinner: PB&J
Snack: Popcorn

Total Calories: 1108

It doesn't look like a lot, but my hunger took over and I ate 2 PB&J Sandwiches. That's what took up my calories today.

Hey Robyn, I only stretch before and after a good aerobics routine with the DVD. It is extremely relaxing especially afterwards after I have worked out my hardest.

Hey all...so my 30 days of achieving a new habit is coming along great ...I've been doing some type of stretching everyday this week. Even when I sitting in front of the television I place my mat down and just stretch...and trust..I do feel a difference...

Lunch: Turkey Sandwich & Half PB&J
Dinner: Tuna Sandwich w/ 2 strawberry yogurts

For the last 2 days I've turned lunch into my fruit/veggie meal. Today, I had a nice toss salad with a pear afterwards. That heald me over until dinner, which works out great.

Hi all, continue to maintain my carbs....

Deb, instead of bacon for breakfast you can try jennie o turkey burgers or tuna...and I agree you should cut the red meat...

I have got to watch my fat intake. Dh was really concerned to hear my cholesterol was 239 he says he wants me around for a while! LOL So new habit is keeping my fat intake low. I think I will have to stop with the half/half in my coffee everyday. Coffee without cream not sure I will like it but I really don't want a stroke or a heart attack! Another things I need to stop with is all the red meat and bacon! Guess that will be my habits to stop this month D! Next time I go to the doctor I want my cholesterol totally low!!! I CAN DO IT!!!

I'm up for a challenge. January was a good eye opener for me. I have discovered that I need to write down everything I eat so I can see what I've eaten and how much. No wonder I never lose weight. This coming month (Feb) will be the month that I will tackle my weekend eating. This is where I have the most problem. Once Friday night comes around, I quit writing down what I eat and I eat way to much food (bread, wine, pancakes) It's been a great eye opener discovering that portion control is key and that I need to learn that I need to make choices when it comes to figuring what it is I really want to eat. For example tonight, do I have a corn tortilla with my meal or would I rather save those calories for that one delicious lowfat oreo cookie? This year I pray that I get strong enough to be able to say no on the weekends. Going to Palm Springs this weekend. Hope I don't blow it to much. emoticon Weigh in tomorrow morning...wish me luck.
