Hey, everyone! I have been a member for quite some time now and have been very successful going from almost 300 lbs to my 170 that I am now. I need to lose that last 20! I have lost motivation and enthusiasm. Hoping you all could help me out!

Hi there,
I am new again...I have been a Sparkpeople memeber since 2010, but then I stopped. UGH! Now I am back and committed more than ever. I just need that support and extra push. Stress has been my enemy (I allowed it to take over) - I am at a weight I never thought I would be at because I am a relatively healthy and fit person (so I thought). I want to lose 25 pounds and get my health back.
I appreciate any insights and motivators you can give me! I am on a mission to GREAT health and to be physically fit.

I'm new here, my name is Sarah and I have 30 lbs to lose. I've lost 7 lbs within my first 2 months here at Sparkpeople but I am losing the motivation. No matter what team I join for motivation and support there isn't enough of it to keep me going.

I have a daughter that I'm trying to keep up with and I work from home so I have time in my day to workout. The trick is is to actually do it.

Hi all!

I am new to the team, and would like to share a bit about myself with you! This is just a copy and paste from my profile:

I am a 20 year old student about to graduate and embark into the world of teaching. I have hypermobility syndrome which mainly affects knees, hips and shoulders and so find it tough to exercise at times. I play wheelchair basketball twice a week and love it. I am in the first team and play matches regularly. At first t fitness was so bad I could only go out at 100% for 3 minutes or so at a time and now I can stay on court all game (40 mins). I am also a part time Carer for two lovely boys but the job can be demanding not only physically with long hours and hard graft but also mentally.
In the past I've tried to lose weight and sometimes gone a bit obsessed, but now I'm going at it healthy. Bit by bit. Just over a year and half ago I was 14 stone 4 pound. As of march 2014 I weigh 13 stone 3 pound. Not a lot of difference but I've done it healthy without much hard work due to ill health physically. Now I want to push it and get over this plateau that I've been stuck at for 7 months!

I'm a friendly person who would love to have a few 'online support friends' to help each other through! So drop me a message! :)

Hi everyone.....,

I am pals, I was in love with walking(as exercise ) ....but after marriage everything changed ,every priority, every aspects of life has changed .....even my love toward walk......I start sitting more and more and gaining weight too.....now at this point when turn back and see I miss so many things....one of those is walk ...long walk.....so now i have decided i am going to start walking again and also want to add some strength training ....I just Hope I will consistent ..Will Lose some weight too

LADYBUG-DR, I totally feel your pain! When I turned 30 I told myself that I was going to focus on my health and lose this weight. Now I'm 37 years old, 7 years later I am still having the same challenges. This journey is definitely a mental game and I know that we could do it through consistency. I've done it before and I know that I could do it again. One thing we can't do is give up no matter how frustrating this becomes. Make yourself at home on the team because we are all here for you. Support is everything and we could also use your motivation.

I joined this team a while back. I was bound and determine to lose 15-20 pounds.
You would think after being a member of SP for 6+ years I would have the weight down and exercise would be a habit and easy to do - - - Not So!
It truly is a daily struggle with many ups and downs. I've been on a major down lately!
I lost control somewhere along the way and have gained more weight.
Time to gain control again!!
So I'm back, this time needing to lose 20+ pounds.

Hey, I'm Mich. I've been on SP for a while and I've decided to join some new teams to motivate me. I want to lose around 25 pounds by june 24th, which is my b-day. What's a better incentive than that? However, I got sick of the scale so I'm using a tape measure right now! I'll probably go back to weigh-ins soon though.

In 4 years, I've lost 123 pounds. I should be hanging from a charm bracelet by now.

Hey everyone!

I've back on this site after being super lazy for 6 months and blaming work and stupid minor injuries for keeping me out the gym which lead me to gain the 20 lb I had lost to come right back. I'm looking to lose 30 lb by July 1st when the boyfriend comes back from the sandbox and then working on another 10-15 afterward.

Right now I'm pretty great at going to the gym but I'm still working on my diet and just keeping within my calorie ranges on here and really just looking for an active group to keep me motivated and keep reminding me this needs to be a life change and stick with it.

Please tell me how you like your Fitbit. I'm considering one however I have limitations on work with any type of wireless device (aka....can't have it at work) so I wonder how much I would "lose" based on that. Looking to hear about some stories.

I'm certainly not new to SP. I've been with SP for 6 years, joining in November 2006.
You'd think after that many years, one would have this weight thing under control....not so!!
I'm not over weight and never have been but I do struggle with keeping it down to what I'm comfortable with. I'm 5'8" and as of this morning weigh 167. I am so much more comfortable at around 147-150. 2012 was not a good weight year!!
I started 2012 heavier than I like to be at 160. 2012 was an extremely fabulous year for our personal business. We were very busy, which left no time for myself and consistently eating on the run, almost always fast food and no exercise. PLUS, my father has had huge health issues, so lots of traveling to see him = hours of driving, fast food, no exercise.
2013 will be different!! I will find time for myself and exercise - I NEED TO!
I feel so much better when I eat healthy and exercise. I also deal with stress so much better so why did I let it all go this year?!?!.
I received a FitBit for Christmas and I intend to put it to full use!!
20+ pounds be gone!

Hi Everyone.

As I was preparing to send 2012 out and bring in 2013, I found this group through the New Year's Eve resolution article; this group seems to sum up my past 4 years or so. So, when I rejoined SP earlier this year my goal was to lose 20 lbs. I started in at 155lbs. This week I am weighing in at 151.8.

2012 Goods: I dropped my average weight using SP.
Ran my first HM (well, ran/walked it)
Signed up for second HM

Others: Didn't lose the 20lbs which would result in getting to that normal/healthy BMI
Still struggle with staying motivated.
Suffering from some pre-tension and may be getting high blood pressure.

So, as typical....there were goods and others in any challenge. With that, I want to put out some goals for 2013.

1) Run anther HM (maybe 2 if finances allow) in under 3 hrs making a PR0
2) Clear some major debt (a personal loan and a car loan) in order to increase my household savings exponentially
3) Lose 20 lbs getting to a maintenance weight
4) Research body building competitions and explore personal possibilities as my husband
has committed to comptiting this year for the first time.

So, since I am in quite a few groups, I'm sure some of you will notice that the post is eerily similar with only tweaks made to the individual group and my hopes for it. I generally dislike these, 'introduce yourself' threads because to me they are a few very impersonal paragraphs that are supposed to have a personal purpose. So please, bear with me on getting this right.

My name is Bronwyn Pearson. I am recently married to my wonderful husband, Bryan. He and I got married on our tenth anniversary of dating. We have a little girl, Ariana, who is four and in Pre-K. She'll be five in March and she can be quite a handfull. I also have two fur children: my cats Akasha, and Naki. They were both rescues, and have their little heart string tugging stories. Both of them sleep on me at night. Normally one will lay on my hip, and the other will lay just below my bent knee. They actually don't get along very well. It is quite common to hear Akasha growling at Naki, who still being a kitten, loves to antagonize her some.

I am twenty-eight years old, and that thought in itself depresses me. To be honest, getting older scares the crap out of me. I'm not the healthiest person alive, as you'll get to know in a little while. I can see mistakes coming back to haunt me, and my body is quickly giving out physically.

When I was younger, I suffered from both anorexia and bulimia. This has caused problems for me later in life such as crazy metabolism issues, problems with organs, and oral health. I also started having seizures late in life from a surgery I had when I was younger. They still aren't fully under control but I am on medication for them that seems to help. Every couple of months is better than every couple of weeks. I also have depression, bi-polar, high anxiety, and OCD. It is also interesting to note that I'm dyslexic, but I love reading and writing. It just takes me a little longer.

I was first going to school for Early Childhood Education, though that quickly changed when I had my own child and they started offering a Paralegal program at my college. However, thanks to my seizures (I can't drive for six months after I have one), I had to drop several classes and decided to take a break from school until I can get them fully controlled. Since then, my life has been filled with little pastimes. I like some videogames and I also roleplay and have begun blogging.

I'm at SparkPeople to try to get a jump start on my resolutions for living a healthier lifestyle and improving myself as a person. Mainly due to the medicines I'm on, I've gained weight and have trouble losing it so I've crossed in to the overweight category by five pounds and two inches of BMI. There are some other goals I have in mind, such as stop smoking and have a better family life. So, here's hoping!

I looked over the group last night, and from what I've seen that this one has a wonderful little community. I have a hard time with staying motivated. Especially since a lot of the food I eat I can't exactly enter in to Spark, or don't have the nutritional value for :/ It can become quite discouraging, but I think there is a good support system here and I hope to be a part of it.

Hi all,
I'm not exactly new but I've never really posted with this team so let me introduce myself. I'm 28,5'7 and currently 183lbs. My ultimate goal is to be between 125-135 but for a short term goal I would like to lose 20lbs by feb 15. That means I have to be hardcore and lose 2 lbs a week. If I can just get to 163 I'll know I can do it and that it's possible. Wish me luck!

My name is Vicki. I'm 56 and I have 80 lbs to lose total to reach my first major goal. Once I get there I'll decide if I want to go lower or not. I'm tall ( 5'9" ) so I can weigh a little more than someone shorter could. Right now I think if I can reach 180 and stay at that weight I'll be doing good. I want to be at a weight where I don't have the constant struggle to keep it there. And at that weight I'll be able to get back off the blood pressure pills and hopefully have a lot more energy.

Hi there! Loved the look of this team it might just be the team I need to help me reach my weight loss goals. I have been struggling for over 20 years now with my weight and I am tired of it lol I just want this weight gone for good! So I can enjoy the end results. LOSSIMISSI, it totally sounds as though you know what you are doing. Those last 20 pounds are always the toughest because you are soo close to your goal. Hi everyone, I have been trying to lose those last 20 lbs for a while now but the scales is still showing me the same number as always. I am not sad about this (mostly annoyed) because there has been other changes, for example, I have a smaller waist, my arms are more toned, my posture is better and in general I feel so much better!

Still I am hoping to lose those 20 lbs. Even 5 lbs would be a great start but somehow my body just doesn't want to get rid of that fat. Arghh.

I hope this team will give me good advice and will keep me going!

Hello everyone,

my name is Suzzy and I am not new to Spark People just starting over again. I left in the spring after gaining weight back and feeling like such a poor example.

Now I am humbly returning after realizing that I didn't have to leave this great place because I am accepted no matter what.
I am back on track and intend to stay this way. It's just been 2 weeks back but I am ready to commit to being a team member. I hope to reunite with old friends and make new ones along the way.

I am back!! I have not been on Spark in over 1-1/2 years and logged back in today to find I had gained 10 pounds since my last log/weigh in. Very disappointing way to "start over." The last time I was on Spark I only needed to lose 20 pounds...now it is 30. I joined WW two weeks ago. I have been tracking my food daily but have not yet attended any meetings. Week one I lost, week two I stayed the same...hoping this week is better.

My goal is between WW and Spark I will be able to meet my goals.

1) Lose 10 pounds by July 27th (probably unreasonable but we have a special event that weekend so that IS my 1st goal.

2) Lose 10% by September 13th (my birthday) so I can once again be able to wear my wedding ring. (Yes, gained too much weight to even wear my rings).

3) Lose 25 pounds by Christmas

hello everyone. Iam Z from India.
I had lost about 7 pounds in my first month, but a small set back left me ill with no fitness for 2 weeks.
In fact today was my first day on the treadmill.
I so want to shoo away 20 pounds.

emoticon Thought I'd better introduce myself, for those that don't know me.
I'm Vicki and I live in Florida.
I'm working towards making the healthiest choices I can when it comes to taking care of myself.
I want to make exercise a top priority as I have a couple of health issues that exercise would improve. Also it would definately give me more energy.
I am basically trying to keep all my nutritional numbers within a set goal I think will work for me. It's not strictly any one specific program. If I had to push it, I'd be more inclined to say it's a lower carb plan.
I'm working to lose about 100 lbs but have no set time to lose it in. I'd love to lose it over the next couple of years, but I tend to be a very slow loser. So I'll take it one pound at a time.

It's good to see so many new members! Welcome to the team.

My favorite trick for resisting treats is to keep them in the freezer (and not a lot either.) I had a package of Oreos last over a month getting one at a time now and again. Out of sight out of mind.

I'm Sarah. I've been doing SP since November 2011. I have lost 5 and then gained 5 a few times over these last months, so I'm still at my starting weight. My schedule has been quite irregular in these months as well but now it will settle into routine until my daughter is out of school. My problem is snacking, but not all the time, just when there are special treats around.

I lost about 35 lbs 7 years ago on Weight Watchers and was able to maintain for 4 years. But 20# have crept back on the last 3 years.

I have a good workout habit established. So I'm looking for a little motivation to get the snacking under control, get more stringent about sticking to my calorie range and losing the 20 that I want gone!

Hi I'm Marsha,
Twenty pounds is exactly what I want to lose so this team is for me! I know with support and daily posting the food and exercise I can do this. Then will be the challenge of keeping it off, as many of you know about as well. I have done Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, and lots of other things with good results, but then I let myself start eating the wrong things and too much again. The weight comes back slowly but it finally all come back and I am kicking myself again.
I want to lose weight to feel good and avoid illnesses that can be prevented by being fit and eating healthy.
Sorry this turned into a biog instead of a post.
Anyway hi! I hope I am here for a long time.

Hiya!

My name is Alisha Bailey. Most people just call me Lisha. I am fixing to be 20 years old and just had a little girl January third 2012. When I was nearing the end of my pregnancy I topped out at 222 lbs and freaked. Understandably that was mostly baby weight. after i had her i was at 202 lbs. i have been slowly losing maybe a pound a month. i want to get down to at least 140lbs. I am a stay at home mom so going places and trying to get out to do more excersisng is a little difficult. Needless to say I need a little motivation and help, and am willing to try just about anything to meet my goals!

Hi My name is Adine and Im new to sparkpeople as well. I have same issue as you. I lost 80lbs about a year a go and now ive gained 20 and need to get it off as I was a size 6 and now a 12 and I dont want to go up anymore. I refuse I want to get back down to at least an 8. I work out 5 days a week for at least an hour and train 2 times a week. I love zumba and found I burn 830 calories for an hour which amazed me but I think my food is all jumbled... I dont know if Im not eating enough or eating to much as im usally starving on zumba days.. I wish I just know how much I should for sure be eating to lose.. this site told me 1500 but honestly Ive tried everything and nothing is moving.. Hopefully this site will help me as well as you! Im glad to see theres people on here with the same issues Im having makes me not feel quite as alone and frustrated!

Hi new to the site and have about 20 lbs to loose. Had a Roux-n-Y in 2008 and lost over 100lbs and have kept it off since then, however i have gained 6 lbs over the winter.....too much sitting on the computer! LOL SO........take control of the situation before is gets out of hand and turns into 16 lbs and so on. Many of my coworkers think I dont need to loose weight but according to the old BMI I am in the overweight category so Instead of loosing the 6lbs I'm going to go for 20 to see if I can get into the proper BMI category! Going to start by taking the dogs for a daily 2-3mi walk and fit in a little Zumba or Belly Dancing here and there. Of course with the nice weather there will be lots of yard work to get done and that will definately help up the activity. Just NEVER want to be fat again!
