Welcome to the group! Because of SparkPeople, and the healthy habits I learned and acquired here, I was 30 pounds lighter this christmas day than last and I'm really proud of that. And in all honesty it really wasn't that hard to achieve - a few changes here and there incorporated slowly into my life and before you know it I am eating less and exercising more, a weight loss combination for sure!
My suggestion on top of the ones already given is to plan your daily meals. About once a week I plan a list of meals and then the grocery list for those meals. So each day when I get home from work I know exactly what I am going to make (or whats in the slow cooker already made!) and then I have leftovers to bring to work for lunch the next day. I'd also suggest having just a handful of breakfasts that you choose between - boiled eggs, oatmeal, toast & tea, healthy cereal, etc.
I find having the guesswork - and unhealthy choices - out of my mealtimes has really helped me stay on track.
