Its good to see you here
I go to Curves, have done for a bit and I am slow getting on and off machines also - but no-one cares they just go round me.
I have made a lot of friends at Curves and even met up with a girl I used to know 20yrs ago!!
I have found that my strength and stamina especially my legs - as I can walk much further and do more than before. I love the classes - often I do a workout with Curves Smart then go into a class - and after class a group of us go for coffee too which is nice.
This year (soon - but they arte still getting sorted out from the Holiday season here - its our maiun holiday season being mid-summer) I am going to start Curves Complete.
You will love being there - and you get used to the machines.!!

Hi Everyone, My name is June and I live in Chesapeake VA, I am 70 years young. I have been on Spark People for quite awhile but I will meet my weight loss goals this year. I just joined Curves about two weeks ago. Getting used to the machines, takes time getting off and on. While I am no longer mobility limited since I had my knee replacement. I do have many dvd's for chair exercises which I still do. Looking forward to meeting everyone and finding out what you think of Curves. Happy New Year from me to you. emoticon June

Hi Dabney - we would love to see you shed those kilos (or pounds!!)
In the end though - YOU have to get up and do those exercises - think of what you will gain - even make some goals - but good strong goals that motivate you and lead you onward -
maybe enter the 5 min exercise challenge and try chair exercies for a short time, every day at the same time, for a couple of weeks - then increase the time to 10 min every day and so on working up to a longer time.
It matters not if you only exercise for a short time - it does matter if you sit on that butt of yours all day!!

Hi Everyone my name is Dabney, and I have tried chair exercises, but has not been doing it as i should, (need to be more motivated), but with this new support team and my determination and am going to get this weight off!!

It must be difficult sometimes for you - however you will find that Chair exercise is really helpful - if you click on the main picture on the main team page you will find the Chair Exercise YouTube Channel and there are lots of videos there you can watch and work along with
Try to chose exercise that you are comfortable with - and do as much as you can - whether its 5 min, 2 min or 30 min. - and on those "not so good" days - try to move - even just round your house, or from room to room.

Hi, my name is Jean and I have peripheral neuropathy which limits what exercises I can do. I have only had this condition for a year. Before that I was a regular exerciser every day and lost 50 lbs. With no movement, I have gained back 30 lbs. I am looking forward to making a difference.
