Hello everyone! I have been interested in running for awhile now, but I am only now taking the steps to actually become a runner. My goal is to participate in at least one obstacle run, such as the "Dirty Girl" or "Mudderella" and to run the 5K portion of Utica NY's Boilermaker road race. I do have a treadmill that I am using, but I have noticed a distinct difference between running a treadmill and road running, so I would like to get outdoors as soon as possible. If anyone has any tips for running outdoors during the winter, it would be much appreciated!
Hi, my name is Jom (nickname) and I've ran cross-country for four years. I went out of season for awhile but I'm picking it back up again. My goal is to run a 5K with a 7 minute mile. I love to run but I also like to cycle:)
My name is Pippa, I'm 26 and from the UK. Running is the main way I get any exercise, and I'm getting more and more competitive with it. I keep seeing races to try and I am probably going to be flat out broke because of racing. Couldn't care less! My most expensive pair of shoes ARE my running shoes.
I am doing my 2nd half Ironman (Iron 112) in August. My name is Cheryl, I live in Canada and I a shade under 50 years old. I am in my second week of base training *16 week program) and I am finding that this time around, my running is very bad. I am recovering (2 months into recovery) from a small tear in the hip flexor (old injury) and a strained abductor/medial glut. The transition training from bike to run outdoors is really difficult with my legs feeling like lead
I was wondering if anyone had any additional tips and as I have always run outside, I was wondering if I did the training using my treadmill for a couple weeks (with hills programmed in) if that would help my muscle memory come back. Currently I train everyday but with something different each day so that I don't work on the same areas two days in a row.
Anyway glad to be here! Speaking of which today is a 5K run day, so off I go!
