Absolutely go with a plan and make sure you have a rest day in between runs.

Absolutely. It's a great beginner's program. If you're anything like me, your biggest problems early on will be pacing yourself and avoiding injury. The c25k program gradually acclimates your body to avoid injury and burnout.

Good progress and good luck. Are you using a program such as c25k?

I started my journey at 323 lbs and in a major depression. Since then I have lost almost 40 lbs and I'm feeling a lot better about myself. I started out walking to lose the weight, but have since moved up to running about a month and a half ago. When I first started out I could barely run 1 minute then walk 1 minute at a time. However, now I can comfortably run for 10 minutes without stopping and I feel great about it. I can't wait to see how far I can get with my training. I am looking forward to running for the rest of my life. I choose my username as a challenge to myself to become the person that I know is inside me.
