Hi there! I'm new to this team and looking forward to getting back into running (again). I've got my eyes set on a 5K that's 9 weeks out and then a 10K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. I have a 13week 10K plan that I've done before that I'll be following and I'm very excited about it. 3 days a week, slow build but I'll be ready for both the 5 k and the 10K in time.

Yeah, there are some scary figures about the number of people who gain back all the weight they just about killed themselves to lose! Plus my experience has been that, while specialty diet food is OK for dieting, it is just too expensive to eat every day.
The good news is, there seems to be a way to make reduced-cal versions of just about everything. The results are usually not quite as good as the original, but they're not too shabby either if you start with a good recipe. Maybe you can track down some low-cal versions of classic picnic food and bring them along for everyone to share?
Hi Lmwconn! Welcome to SP! Congrats on reaching your goal weight, what an awesome accomplishment. I'm at my goal weight too, more or less, but need support in maintaining that weight. I love food, and this is my biggest obstacle. I get more than enough exercise, I just need to continue to work really hard on eating healthy. Summer has been a struggle with all the picnics, etc., but I'm giving it my best shot!

I just joined SparkPeople a few days ago and am overcoming my lurker tendencies in order to shout out a "HI" to the community. Looking forward to chatting with you guys and continuing to develop a healthy and happy lifestyle.
I'm actually at my target weight now, having lost 50 pounds in the last 6 months. So my reason for joining SparkPeople is to maintain the weight and keep getting fitter and healthier. It's a great feeling to go from a (tight) XL to a comfortable XS, and not one I want to go through in reverse!
