Hello everyone! I am new to running. I have been preparing by doing the walking dvds (Leslie Sansone) for the past couple weeks and next week I am starting the couch to 5k. I actually tried the first weeks workout and it seemed quite easy for me, but i am following the plan so I don't hurt myself (which I am good at doing). I am really excited. I was never very into exercising, but I have been working out regularly for a year now. I used to stick with tae bo, step aerobics and stuff like that. I was bored with it. I chose to do running because it is something that lets me challenge myself and set goals. I am a real goal-oriented person. Anyway, I am all geared up to start the C25k. I never thought I would be into running, but now it is my new passion.

I also wanted to share that I found a website that has free mp3 music you can download that goes along with C25K program. Not sure if it has been mentioned around here before or not, but music really helps me to keep the pace and keep going. The site is podrunner.com and the C25k is under the mixes section. It is completely free. I hope this helps someone out.

Welcome to the team! It is best to go slow so you don't get burnt out, trust me. Good luck getting to that 3 miles!

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda and I am 35. I've always, always wanted to be a runner but I keep quitting for some reason. Recently, though, something clicked! I'm working up to 3 miles a day, 5 days a week. I'm currently at 2.75 miles a day. Wish me luck!
Amanda

I am a 40 year old mother of (5) --with only two teenagers left at home, and I'm finally ready to reclaim my life and body back for myself. The kids have grown / are growing, and I must make a new life for me now...starting with my health.
