I'm still getting used to the site, so hopefully i'm doing this right. I've been using sparkpeople for about 2 weeks, keeping careful track of what I eat and of my exercise. I'm kind of detail-oriented and nerdy so I really enjoy keeping tabs on all the little things I eat. And what a different it's made..
Plus i've been able to start copying my recipes over and it's helped me see which ones are healthy and which aren't. I'm vegan and I guess I always assumed anything I cooked was healthy. Oops. I've also learned a lot about portion management.
Anyway I've lost about 4 lbs so far in the past 2 weeks, although I have a long way to go. But it's just nice in terms of lifestyle change. I have a lot more energy now, and I feel like i'm taking better care of myself.
So far my only problem is beer... i'm used to drinking a lot, and while i've cut it down to about 6 a week, it's still my biggest hurdle. But i'll get there! Especially since it's so crushing to see the effect on my daily nutrition log when I add a few beers in..
So.. hi! Glad there's such a great community on here. For some reason I feel really ashamed about telling my friends that i'm trying to lose weight and about how seriously i'm taking it.
