This was a great question! I'll go with my hands; I have delicate hands still and I take good care of them so they are soft. I suspect one day I won't love them so much (thinking of mom and grandma's hands as they aged) but for now, I like them!

What kind thing have you done for yourself lately?

I have probably buried the embarrasing stuff from my teenage too deep, can΄t think of anything although I am sure I was embarrased a lot of times - maybe when I had this beautiful new expensive bikini and dived into the water just to discover that that bikini could not be meant for swimming in becuse it all went sloppy and the pants sort of fell off... luckily I was under the water and could sort of arrange it enough to get out and seek cover...

What was your favourite dessert as a child?

When I was a child we occasionally had pinwheels (that you blow on to turn) with clear plastic handles and in the handle were very tiny round candies. We called them "wind mills." (All this fun would be considered unsafe today) We so loved those teeny candies. We always had this treat outdoors to keep all that tiny candy off the floor.

One day we were outside with my dad working in the yard. My brother must have been 2-1/2 then. He yelled to us girls, "Look! Wind mill candy" We ran over to discover he was eating fertilizer off the driveway!

He was fine, of course, but he is mighty tall!!

Let's here an embarrassing (but clean) story from your teen years.

I remember one Christmas Eve when I was 7 and my sister was 5. We were so excited about our Santa presents and were having trouble getting to sleep. My mom and dad read stories to us and then my mom told us that Santa wouldn't come to our house unless we were asleep. Unbeknownst to us, dad had slipped out of the house and threw a couple of rocks up on the roof. Mom said were asleep in no time!

More childhood stories, please!

A little on the funny side...

My earliest memory had to be when I was between 2 and 3 years old. My view of our stairs leading to the basement is an upside down one...from the perspective of falling. The carpet was red. :)

These stories are fun! Can we keep it going a little longer?

One of my favorites is also a Christmas memory; we lived in the mountains of Idaho and so to get our CHristmas tree we'd all bundle up and head out to the nearest forest and walk around to find the perfect tree. There was usually several feet of snow and it was so QUIET out there with the blanket of snow. It was always quite a chore cutting down the tree and we all usually took a turn with the saw. When we had a good cut going, dad moved us away and did the last dangerous part. Then we'd drag the tree to the car and tie it on top and mom would pull out the thermos of hot chocolate. I remember how warm my cheeks felt when we finally got in the car and how my cold wet fingers were bright red until long after we got home. It's the rare blessed person these days who gets to go the forest to get their tree!

On a similar vein -- what is your EARLIEST memory?

Christmas in Colorado - sounds wonderful. Many of my favorite childhood memories center around the beach: early morning swimming lessons in the Long Island Sound - warm sunshine and cold salty water, camping on the ocean in Montauk - falling asleep to the sound of the breaking waves, awaking in the sea mist for breakfast, heading to the beach then coming back for lunch and the shade under the dining tarp then returning to ride the waves for the afternoon. The square dance Wed and Sat nites and bonfires on the beach were great too! Keeping this topic going..... emoticon

One of my favorite childhood memories...I grew up in Durango Colorado which is an absolutely beautiful place. We lived far from our extended family but my parents made friends with the Kolz family. There were 9 of them I believe and they all had kids the same age as my sister and I. They owned clydesdale horses and every Christmas, they'd have a day when all of them and their kids plus us would spend the day in the snow on sleigh rides pulled by the beautiful horses. We'd build a bonfire and have chili, hot cocoa, and play all day long. Then we'd end the day by taking the sleighs to find our Christmas trees. So much fun!

I really like this question so I'm going to repeat it, please share a favorite childhood memory:)

I eat according to the season, so in the summer, I like to eat all these "summer" fruits and veggies: cantaloupe melon, apricot, tomato, cherry, peach, strawberry,...

Oh and I also love my cordial drink (it reminds me of my childhood, we used to drink it only during our holidays.)
I just got in a stock of barley water, grenadine cordial, blackcurrant cordial, Parma violet cordial... It is not a liquor, I don't think I have ever seen it in the US.

Is there something you don't like about summer?

I, apparently, lead a boring life. I cannot think of anything truly crazy that I have done...although there was the funniest prank we pulled with my grandparent's blessing. My sister was graduating from college that was about 5 hours from home, and a bunch of friends decided to make the 4 hour drive to my grandparent's to camp in the grove of trees about 1/2 mile from the house. My cousins, siblings, and I gathered up some leftover fire crackers and jumped into the back of the pickup and headed out around 11 pm. We drove about 1/2 way down the lane, parked the truck, and crept into the grove. We split up, each grabbing a tent stake, and on three we all pulled. Both tents dropped, then right before we ran like mad back to the truck, we let the fire crackers go. We laughed so hard! The girls thought the guys did it, and the guys blamed the girls. The next morning, we all had on our most innocent faces. I still laugh about it, more than 25 years later. (Wow, that statement made me feel old!)

I love nearly every veggie there is and so it's hard for me to find a new one I haven't yet. I did discover that no matter how much I try I am not going to like mangoes. And I've discovered new ways to make veggies - I've tried roasting everything (include brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and broccoli) and I also made "tabouleh" with grated cauliflower instead of cracked wheat or bulgar. It was awesome.

That's a tough question. I have several: I'd say "Under my Thumb" by The Rolling Stones (I'm fully aware of the lyrics and that they might be a tad sexist, but the music makes me feel good and dance everytime I hear it.)

I have so many favorite quotes but one of my altime faves is from the bible - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves."

I used to not wear jewelry (other than my wedding ring or special occassion) but then I started making it and I love the way it can make even my casual outfit seem classy. Not too mention, the right necklace and/or earrings draws attention away from my gut:) LOL

Are you a shoe fanatic?

Saphire- I love the deep blue. It also is my Hubby's birthstone. Of course I wouldn't refuse a diamond either.

Do you wear jewlery everyday? ( in addition to a wedding ring) I can't stand anything on while I'm in the house. I only wear it, if I am going out.

Every year my definition of the perfect present changes. :) I usually ask for no flowers on this weekend - bring them at other times. On a warm year, I like when we go on a picnic after church. We'll go to either a large nearby city park that has a waterfall, or a State park. If hubby prepares the meals, that is always good!

My weekend usually consists of a sporting event for one of my boys (wrestling, football, basketball, soccer, swimming or running), grocery shopping, house cleaning, and yard work in the summer. We do usually find time to go outdoors in the woods either fishing, hiking, and i'm hoping this year bike-riding. I cram a lot of stuff into my only two days off;)

What would be your perfect Mother's Day present?

I volunteer for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life as their marketing/publicity chair here locally. I got involved in 2007 after I lost two friends who were 32 and mothers that same year to cancer.

I am also a family support mentor with an organization that pairs you with a family who needs help making healthy decisions and developing healthy relationships.

What single trait do you admire most in your friends? If you could only choose one:)

Oh, you are so sweet. You really are. You must be a wonderful person to keep a friend for a lifetime!

I love sunrise. Always have. I enjoy the sunset if it's on, but sunrise is my favorite. I love a new start. I've mostly lived on the western side of the US so when we are on the Atlantic coast or especially on a cruise, I make sure I get up early to have the blessing of seeing the new day arrive.

In your youth, were your closest pals guys or gals?

My favorite color to wear is dark red. Although since I have kids I seem to wear less and less nailpolish. I really miss that treat too. I always feel good when I have polish on. Maybe I will polish today!

Do you wear jeans? (I am on the search for the perfect pair now that I have lost weight. I never wore Jeans when I was heavier) What brand works best for you?

I haven't had this dream in a while, but I would dream that I was standing at the top of hill observing a party in process. I was dressed in a beautiful gown with the wind blowing my hair. I would start descending the hill and as soon as I reached the bottom, I would turn into a maid serving drinks and sppetizers and the dream would end.

My grandparents. They are in their 80s and the most amazing people. Married 60 years and still in love (they still go dancing and grandpa talks about how beautiful grandma's legs are lol). They walk about 8 miles every day (the the post office and back) even in the snow. I see them on a fairly regular basis but I do wish I could spend more time with them.

What did you want to be when you grew up and are you doing it?

My perfect date would be one that made me feel sexy, one that had me laughing and involved lots of good conversation. One of my fave dates with my husband was one night we had planned a date night but had absolutely no money so in my mind we had cancelled but when I got home, he had made sandwiches and packed a "dinner" and we went out to the lake, ate peanut butter/jelly sandwiches and watched the sun go down.

If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?

I leave Tuesday for my parent's 50th Anniversary which I've been planning over a year. I think that will be the highlight of the year. My sibs and I and our respective kids (and grandkids) will all be together for the first time in over 20 years. Only one living offspring will be missing.

What is an unusual fact about you that almost no one knows?

I don't think I have eaten in a very unusual place. All I can think of is a 5 a.m. breakfast on a Japanese dock where fishermen just came back from fishing, and were selling raw fish --I was not vegetarian at this time.

What is your favorite season and why?
