My name is Janie Nelson. I am 44 years old, I have 2 kids---my son is 25 years old and my daughter is 20 years old. I am married to my best friend, John, for 3 years. I am originally from Roseville, MI and moved to Austin, TX in fall of 2008 and we moved to Biloxi, MS in December, 2009. Love living only 3 minutes from the beach.
I started on my weight loss journey in 2006 at which time I weighed in at 326lbs. It was at a Mary Kay convention in Michigan, when I couldn't take care of myself when I went to the ladies room. I was embarrassed, I went back to my hotel room and when I looked over my clothes and noticed that my clothes were huge. I cried and decided to take my life back into my own hands. Since then, I have yo-yo'd around; in 2010 my lowest weight was 183; however, with stress, time, premenopausal symptoms, and depression; I have gone back up 30 lbs or so.
In August, 2011, I started feeling like I was pregnant---very! However, I just chalked it up as the stress of working alongside my husband 18 hours a day 6 days a week that I was losing control of my self. By Christmas I was feeling extremely pregnant and made an appointment to see my doctor. It turned out that the fibroids tumor that was slowly growing decided to have a growth spurt. On February 22, 2012, exactly (to the day) 25 years after the birth of my son, I gave birth to a 3lbs beign tumor and both of my ovaries had adhesions on them. Now the factory and it's smoke stacks are gone, I have lost 16 lbs (day before surgery i weighed in at 223lbs); but now I am going through hot flashes worse than before and my depression is now on a roller coaster ride. I am taking medications for hormone replacement and for my depression. Oh yeah, I have problems sleeping and taking mess for that too.
Anyway, I am very excited to be apart of this wonderful website. I have tried so many different things to lose weight and for the last 2 years feeling like I need to starve myself just to lose the weight. I can't wait to get back under 200lbs.
I am so looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Janie
P.S. I am my husband's administrative assistant and working for him hasn't always been smooth sailing. Lol!
