Fresh vegetables will do well without refrigeration. And an insulated bag with one of those freezable packs will keep a nice wrap or salad cool for a morning.

I am fortunate as we have a refrigerator/freezer at our office and I can use that, but I also have an insulated lunch bag and with an ice pack it keeps everything cold or frozen if I need to go somewhere before getting to the office. I also frequently have Lean Cuisines because of the ease and portion control.

Can you bring a lunchbox and put a little ice pack in it? Then you can pack lots of foods that might ordinarily go bad at room temperature. My workplace has a refrigerator, so my lunch usually consists of veggies (cauliflower, carrots, cucumbers, whatever I feel like buying), fruits (usually apples or bananas), yoghurt, a few cubes of cheese, a hard-boiled egg, and sometimes a sandwich. The hummus wrap sounds yummy too! I'll have to try that sometime.

Hummus wraps are grear. Spread a couple of tablespoons of hummus on a whole wheat tortilla and add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a little lowfat cheese.

Welcome to Sparks. I try to eat healthy and our work enviornament is not in line with this. I am the odd person out. They are all eating fast food and junk. I take cut up fruit that will hold at room tempeture. I Love to mix it as it will get sweet and juicy as the flavors blend. I take cut up veggies like tomatoes and cucumbers with a little container of vinagerette. I have little containers of nuts or some seasoned popcorn. By the end of a month, I have noticed that my co-worker start making a few healther choices. I only join my co-workers when it is for a special event, like meeting a goal and they give us pizza and then it is only one small piece.

Keep on track

Sophie, is it one of the kits by Fit'n'Fresh? I have a couple of those; they have little ice rings and squares that fit perfectly. Very convenient and portion sized.

Welcome. Glad you have joined us. I have a neat gadget for salads that let's me pack on the salad on the bottom and the dressing in a container on the top. It has made my lunches so much easier

Hi! I just recently joined spark people and have heard a lot of great things about this site. Can anyone give me some helpful lunch ideas. I am on the road a lot, and do not often have access to a microwave etc. I am frustrated because even the "healthier" fast food options are often not very healthy. I am tired of packing the usual PB& J or lunch meat sandwich. Any suggestions for other options I might be able to try?
