Found this team while searching for a group that was perhaps closer to home and shares a love for Phila. I am one of those "you know who you are" people that live just outside the city limits...on your way to the Mall...
I have been off and on with SP for over 2 years and am trying, again. I hope to stick to my new program of setting realistic, short-term goals. Some a re by the day, some by the week. This week it has been 3-tasks/goals per day; write them down, refer to them throughout the day - get them done! I also have a weekly goal that is to do more toning exercise and to really stick to my eating plan - ya see, I am going to a clothing sale at a friends house and love this line of clothes and hope that I can fit into somehting fun to buy for the spring.
Wish me luck - and I too would love to help get the "team in action!"

Thats Awesome! Congrats. So far I haven't found anyone else in this team that is active so its exciting for me to see someone new in the area. Hows it going? I just restarted my diet this last week. I am using medifast. And then for my one meal a day i use the spark people cookbook for my lean and green meal. I also go to the YMCA. I can't do a ton of exercise at the moment because I got into a car accident last thanksgiving weekend. But I just started physical therapy and i am hoping to be back into cardio condition soon. I am also a mother of 2 small kids and my husband is going to Temple law. Tell me about what your doing?

Hi everyone! I am in Lansdale - I know it's a bit farther northwest but it seemed to be the only area group that fit. I am trying to regain control of my weight & this time I got serious enough to join the YMCA. I have had a great first 2 weeks & hope that I stay interested. I am hoping by joining a group that will help to motivate me to work toward my weight goal.

Hi everyone! My husband and I just moved our family to Roxborough from California. Im guessing this is the right area team for me to join. I joined the YMCA and have been going 3-5 days a week. I have been a member of spark for a while now but in the past have not fully utilized it to its fullest. My husband is going to Law school so My goal is over the next 3 yrs to become even healthier and lose my excess weight which is now over 100 and 30lbs! I just had my 2nd child 4 months ago and as i write this i am in the hospital recovering from having my gallbladder out. Something has to change and Im looking for people who can be a support system to make these goals happen. I love positive people too.
hello! I'm from the chestnut hill section right next to fairmount park. I'm trying to get back into working out on a regular basis and I need a fitness buddy! There is a gym in my apt complex that i use once in a while and I take my dog for walks around the neighborhood. If anyone is interested in joining me I would love it! I really need motivation and I think someone to hold me accountable would help.

Hi, I'm Sarah and I've never posted here -- livein Mt. Airy with my two dogs -- work in Center City, need encouragement since I'm recovering from a bad SEPTA accident (23 of course) and have had to give up - temporarily - FitLife and leading training walks on weekends for Komen 3-Day for The Cure. Alas, Im actually getting accustomed to being a couch potato so welcome suggestions for getting back up and out in the world again.
Hello everyone! I'm so happy that there is a NW Philly group here on SP. I have been a member of SP for a while, but have never taken the steps to be active. I have recently had a weight loos/healthy lifestyle epiphany back in March and have been taking active steps to reach my goals in April. Since April 18th I have lost 25 pounds so far. Only 84 more to go to my initial goal weight!
While I've been walking a lot and trying to eat right I feel I need that extra oomph to really put me over the top and get in gear. As a single mom of a 6 (soon to be 7) y/o daughter I don't have much time to get to a gym or even do some serious walking on my own during the week. Hopefully the group can help me rewire my brain to realize all the other ways that are out there to get moving.

Hi, I'm Elizabeth. Recently joined the Change of Heart Program. The diet is not to tough to stick to (and spark really helps with this), but the exercise requirement is tough for me. Hello team! I'm Christine, from the Blue Bell Hill section of Germantown. Am a vegan working with a great dietician, enjoy walking + jogging [slooooowly] in the neighborhood. I keep a pretty hectic schedule and now find myself working out in the wee hours of the morning. A real serious challenge this time of year with decreasing daylight.
