Hi! My name is Janis. I happened to be looking at a list of the teams that one of the Team Leaders groups that she is involved with. I saw the emotional eating. I decided to look at the list of teams for people who eat emotionally. I love what I read about the challenges of this team. I know I eat when I'm not hungry. I eat often when my stomach is content. I really would love to be able to learn how to be content with feeling I have to have gum, candy or whatever in my mouth. I'm feeling this team is definitely a place for me to learn. I definitely was drawn to this team. I hope to meet these challenges. I'm not sure I understand the self scan one. I just know that I want to become a mindful eater. I'm glad someone created this team. I look forward to this membership in this team.

Spark People Team Leader, GLITTERGIRL, from Team, "I Can't Do This On My Own", helped me reach my goal in 2012. I was able to maintain my weight for several months, but now I have to get serious again as much of my hard work I let go of, putting my focus on another issue. I will keep on, until I get back to my goal.

exercise also helps me. on days when I do more cardio I drink more and I have less of an appetite. I'm still a work in progress but since I'm slowing down, not going all ocd with tracking and stuff. I feel much better :)

I try the water thing too. But I also found that brushing your teeth or using mouthwash seems to keep me from going to that fridge or to the cabinet. And chewing sugar free gum can be used to curb the cravings. Just have to play around with things that may help you. What works for some may not work for others. Trial and error. But main thing is support and you have come to the right place.

Mindful eating!! It's something you need to keep in your back pocket. Seems so easy to turn my back on it but I can do it and so can you. I'm finding the water drinking very helpful, Right now I'm up to 3 to 4 16.9 oz bottles a day and it does curb the crave. Thats my "mindful thought for the day" Stay on it Spark Friends
