See though, that's why it's even more important to accomplish this challenge!! Gotta do it for the children and hopefully teach them a valuable lesson, right? RIght.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, then it's just hilarious

Lol... sorry, I am just laughing because I am wondering if you both have young children? Or tried this challenge with young ones? I am usually eating verrry slowly as I am either feeding my baby too or getting up to get someone else something.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, then it's just hilarious

Welcome, BFLY2012!
This has been a favorite challenge for me. I used to "inhale" my meals. I found that eating portions separately helped. Instead of a plate full, I divide the meal into three of four bowls. Then all items are hot when I eat them and I can make that meal last a good half hour. I also drink a glass of water with each serving. You will find a system that works for you!

it was hard for me too at first. i made a list using black magic marker ( so i could not ignore it) and started with one thing i would do differently during the meal. first was turning off the tv or for me putting down the book. i did that for about two or three weeks and then started adding one more thing. for me it was putting the fork down between bites. never realized how i was shoveling the food in. when did i ever go without so i thought i had to hurry and get it down. ugh. anyway. hope you get the idea and you begin on your journey. good luck along the way and welcome emoticon

Hey, I'm new here. I've just started practicing meditation and mindfulness. I've talked a lot about this with my therapist and for some reason just can't give in to the mindfulness during EATING. It's like I know that I will be shown the error of my ways and ignorance is bliss haha.

Anyway, guess I'm looking for support and the jump start I need to make mindfulness and integral part of my life.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, then it's just hilarious
