I'm Brenn from Minneapolis, MN. I never know what to say on here, I rarely post. I am loving this site VERY much. Also that I'm eagerly waiting to receive my tracker via fedex. I am feeling so much better these days, thanks to this site. If you guys sold supplements, nikes, cool yoga pants or tvs, I would buy from you. That's how much I want to help you guys out, the way you all have helped me. So thanks. I just wanted to share that. Much love to everybody!

Hi ya'll, I've not been on here much - just have entirely too many teams to deal with. So I'm voting myself off the island, since I've not been much of a player. I spend too much time online trying to check in with all the teams and feeling guilty when I don't. I need to spend that time EXERCISING and taking care of myself, so I can help others!! I haven't even been participating in teams I started - and that's a really sad state of affairs!!
emoticon
We'll likely see each other around on the Spark, and you can always stop by my page and say "Hi!". I'd like to think I could eventually re-join the team (that is, if you'll have me back!!).

So just wanted to let you know (in case anyone notices when the count drops by one!).

Cheers!
Julia

Hello everyone, my name is Val. I've been on SP for about 8 months, but starting this January is the first time I've become really active. My current spark streak is 17 days, and I'm beginning to lose weight. I'm completely new to this message board thing and I hope I'm doing this correctly (let me know). I hope I can be an encouragement to others as I see so many inspiring and motivational posts.

Hi, I just joined this team after ordering a new pedometer. I have a Timex pedometer that can light up at night, but my husband keeps breaking his pedometer so I thought I'd give him this one as soon as the SP pedometer arrives. Check out my SP page. I'll stay with this team because it seems like fun, but I enjoy the other teams I belong to just as much. Have a good week everyone!!

Hello all Sparklers!!

I just love the sound of that as we are all shining so bright due to our stories and inspirational shares. I joined on here last year but, of recently I have been keeping up with more tracking, as it has been keeping me motivated to achieve my weight loss goal!! I do not have a lot of weight to lose but I love that I have come so far from who I was not so long ago, both emotionally and physcially. I am on here to get more support as well as meeting new people. I love reading all the wonderful stories and shares about what is motivating you or and the chapters of your life that have made you who are today. I currently live in Western New York. Would love to meet some local people, but please do not let that stop you from introducing yourself.. for I would love to hear more about you, as it keeps me motivated as well as making new friends. emoticon I love this quote and hope it motivates you in some small way.
“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”
― Marilyn Monroe
Feel free to look at my page and add me as a friend. Here is to us achieving our goals and dreams together! emoticon

Hi! I'm Amie. I've been a member of Sparkpeople for a few years now. But, I've had a lot happen in my life since November 2010, so I've fallen off the wagon quite a bit. I'm happy to say that I'm back on and have been for a month now. I'm keeping track of my eating each day as well as my exercise. I'm reading blogs, articles, finding healthy recipes, etc. to keep me on track and motivated. I've lost 8 pounds in the past month and I feel great. I'm motivated and ready to get healthy and stay healthy!

Hello to everyone. My name is rosalind and I joined this program at the beginning of the year. I truly will need a lot of support to stay on track to reach my goals. Having a lot of health problems is the reason I can't do the workouts like I want. So far I have been really enjoying myself on here and hope to meet new people.

Hello Spark Friends! My name is Evelyn or Ev for short. I was born and raised in NE Ohio. I moved to NE Florida 21 years ago and it is home to me now. I ran across SP in 2008 and started some things, but wasn't serious until a year ago. Right after I started in seriously I found I had breast cancer and worried I was losing weight because of the cancer, but I continued to lose even after it was gone. Six weeks after my treatment was complete, I was found to have cancer on my right tonsil. This one hasn't been so easy for me. I am so glad I found this team today. It seems like a lot of interesting ideas and new friends. And just what the doctor ordered for me. emoticon

My name is Sam and I live in East Mesa, AZ. I was born in Hong Kong and have lived and AZ most of my life. I originally joined Sparkpeople after hearing about someone mentioning this on tv back in 2007-2008. I initially lost about 15 lbs and maintained for a bit, but then lost sight due to other things going on in my life. Now, I have regained focus and ready to do it again and better, while maintaining going forward. To me it's a way of life, and with this mind set, I believe I can do it.

I am a brand new "Fan of Sparkpeople Store" team member. I just posted a "gotta love team gear" topic on this team forum to explain why I am here and the effect on people with gear and how it identifies us being a part of something bigger than ourselves. I have been a hardheaded athlete/coach on all levels from HS to the Pros for 20 plus years and am finally addressing my health needs before my players athletic needs. The by product is I will become a better coach from this. I have never used a support resource until now due to the ego part of always trying to do everything on my own. I am a gear junky and Invictus 4 which means "unconquered" (the 4 means in mind, body, spirit, and soul) is my vehicle to reaching goals no matter how many past failures and regardless of in what areas of life. Now my love of team gear (maybe it's a uniform thing), has me brainstorming to get my Spark gear and combining it with the Invictus 4 logo (see my Spark team or Spark page for Invictus 4 logo). Spark is the real deal as evidenced by the fact this massive resource is free just to try and help people. I will proudly wear or use any Spark items to promote something like amazing site this which is the "genuine article"..Let's also all remain forever "unconquered". I am glad to be here.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:28-31

Hi, I'm Vicky. I've been a Spark member for a few years now. I've had my ups and downs but I'm still sticking with it! The first year I was a member, I won 2 tshirts on the Spark points wheel, and I gave one to my daughter to get her more motivated. We've about worn them out! I love to answer that question, "What is SPARKPEOPLE.COM?"

Can't wait to get to shopping!

Hello from Arizona. My name if Frank and have been a member of SparkPeople since April. I tend to be cautious about getting really involved in a "new' adventure but now I find myself almost obsessive about this wonderful family of folks that have much to share and they do share with gusto. I must say that I love it.

I am diabetic T2 and on insulin. I intend to buy me a shirt to help spread the word.

Cheers to all. emoticon

Hi! My name is Emilie and I've been a member of Sparkpeople for 3 years now. I live in a very active retirement community in Central Florida. I go to pool exercise classes 4 days a week with wonderful people who inspire me to "keep going." One lady in our class is over 90. If she can do it, I can do it.
I've made a few purchases from the Spark Store and have been very pleased with everything. I look forward to reading your comments - especially on how the clothing fits. I would like to buy a shirt but am never sure of the sizing. Maybe I can add a few items to my wish list. I like ordering from the store because it gives me an opportunity to give a little back to a website that has given me so much.

Hello my name is Libby, I live in Perth, Western Australia. Have been with Sparkpeople for 18 months. I love being here. I have lots of wonderful supportive Sparkfriends and enjoy coming on every day and logging in my fitness amd nutrition. I love educating myself and do this through all the different sites available here. Now that I am back in Australia I can start to order goods from the Spark store. Hi everyone. I joined the team when I ordered the pedometer. I'll put my review on it in a separate message. Just wanted to stop in and say hello.

Hi,
my name is Tina and I live in California. I found this site in a People Magazine article and thought I would check it out. I joined on the 4th and have already increased my stamina. I need to lose at least 25 lbs. I have gained 50 over the course of 5 years. I am on bi-polar meds that have contributed to the weight gain. My dr. says that I have to get it off because it is destroyting my knees and ankles. I hope this site can help me acheive this. emoticon

Trica,

No matter the walks of life we come from, we're all in this together. I look forward to getting to know you better as well. It sounds like you face a lot of challenges, but you also have God in your life and you're keeping the faith; that means you're never alone, no matter what. Have a great weekend also and I'll keep you in my prayers as well. emoticon

Hi Everyone,

I'm actually newly returned to SparkPeople-- I signed up before I was 50, but didn't keep up with it. Now I'm over 50, and I recently developed some health issues (Lyme--felled by a tick--who woulda thunk it?, H-pylori infection, high BP, cholesterol, and horrible posture) that drove me to begin living a healthier lifestyle. The Lyme Disease and H-pylori were cured with antibiotics, my BP is under control with exercise, eating right, and a combination of good supplements, the cholesterol I'm working on--it's hereditary, and the posture has been corrected through intensive chiropractic care and targeted rehabilitative exercises.
I am a believer in a holistic approach to health, and I've been at this since April last year, but just last month got an email that led me back to SparkPeople. So here I am.
I don't really have much weight to lose and I'd been pretty fit until all of the health issues hit me all at once. I'm quite happy fluctuating between 150 and 160 lbs, which is a healthy weight for me since I'm 5'10", but I want to get back into the 145 lbs range. Since I've been tracking my nutrition, I've noticed that I've not been eating enough during the day, and with that, I've not been eating enough of the right foods. I'm still making some adjustments. I have been working out almost every day now, but I had no idea how many calories I really burned--logging the activities gave me a good idea and a pleasant surprise. I bought a heart rate monitor the day before yesterday, and I was even more pleasantly surprised to find that I actually burn more calories during my workouts than the website charts calculate for me. Yeah!
I recently found myself out of a job (cutbacks), and I've been hunting for a new one. I have a few good prospects and things are looking up. For a while there, I was stressing really badly, and focusing on staying active and exercising on a regular basis has made a difference--I made a conscious choice not to allow myself to sink into depression over what I view as a temporary setback in my life. My immediate goal is to find another position by the end of this month, and my long-term goal is to become independent. There are some things that I will share about this experience in my blogs in the near future--I'm just not ready to do so as yet.

I like coming to the website to read what other people are doing and I find myself inspired and motivated by reading the posts, blogs, etc.; I've learned a lot just by hanging out.

I normally don't say much, because I'd rather listen than talk. So thank you everyone for the good information, your insights, and wisdom.

Have a super day everyone!

Wag, and the world wags with you. Howl and they put you outside.

Hi, my name is Deborah. I am 49 years old and I'm from Maryland. I underwent gastric bypass surgery 8 weeks ago and I started a walking program 2 weeks ago. Although I am limited to certain forms of exercise for the next 4 months, I want to get a good start on my new healthy lifestyle.

I am looking for motivation and to help others stay motivated. I am so grateful that I found this website.

Hi I'm Carleen from CT and joined SP July 29 and so far from the Spark Store I've purchased the canvas tote, the on the go plastic set, the 10min full body work out DVD, resistance band, stability ball, and pedometer. My next purchase will be a jump rope and some t-shirts. I am transforming my life via SparkPeople and STILL amazed at how much this website has to offer!

Hi, I'm Kristy in O.C., CA. As soon as I joined Spark, I bought the I Love SparkPeople T. as an incentive to get me motivated and it worked! I haven't purchased anything else for myself yet however I did purchase the Pedometer for a friend for her B-Day in December. Like most of you..I also give myself small rewards for staying on track with my work-outs and not quitting which used to be my routine.

Hello, I'm Paula from Kansas City. I just reached my second mini-goal of 20# lost and have rewarded myself with the 2 workout DVD's! I have a rather long (ahem) favorites list to work through and I love giving back feedback from my purchases, so I figured this was a good place to be. emoticon

Hi although I dont have a team I joined this team because I have been a member since 2007 and have purchased several items from the store including the pedometer,t-shirt, jump rope and several other items. Everything so far has been great. Love coach nicoles workouts and plan to purchase the videos in the near future. Thanks for the warm welcome and hope to grow stronger and get back with the program.

Hi! I just joined the team and plan on using SP products as rewards for reaching my goals. I have reached my first goal: 4 weeks post total knee replacement surgery and passed all of the exercise tests emoticon Of course, my PT is adding more difficult exercises, but I'm excited to be doing so well. I will have ongoing exercise and weight loss goals, so I should be able to accumulate several products to "Spread the Spark" emoticon

Hi everyone,
I've been with SparkPeople since January of this year. I've learned a lot not only about nutrition and fitness but about myself and how the community here truly makes a HUGE difference. I am going to be turning 43 in about 2 weeks and usually define myself as a mom. I have a 9 year old son but before him, I have always since "mothered" people since I was very young. I've tried all kinds of ways to yo-yo with my weight and am tired of a quick fix. I want a healthy lifestyle so I can be the best active role model for my son.
Currently to date the only SparkPeople store items I have are the Cardio Blast dvd and the Fit,Firm,& Fired Up! dvd. I own up to having a problem with rewarding myself and am working on that. I am so thankful for this new team since it will help me in making decisions on which SparkPeople store item I'd like to get for my rewards. I've had my eye on the anti burst balance board, jump ropes, and some tees.

I look forward to seeing the feedback on various items through the threads to figure out what's going to work best for me.

I'm blessed enough to have a husband who's seen me through my smallest and largest and puts up with my many moods when I am frustrated with weight issues and still loves me. My son is my focus and purpose to make him proud and to know to always try your best in all areas of your life- I am going to be that role model. My most cherished things in life are my family and friends and I love to wave to people when I am out for my walks. I always try to have a smile to share with others and hope to inspire others to find their own sparks. emoticon emoticon

I don't think I introduced myself so here it goes. Hi - I have actually been with Sparkpeople since April but I guess this is the first I am introducing myself here. I am over 50 and that is all I will say about that...LOL. It is harder now to keep the weight off. I guess I should have listened when they said "It gets harder as you get older to keep off that weight." A lesson in smugness for me I guess. So now here I am weighing more than I have ever weighed in my life. I have a lot of different things we could call road blocks but the idea is to find a way to beat them down before they beat me (hypothyroidism, sleep apnea, ulcer, hiatal hernia, umbilical hernia, heart issues, asthma). But I'm not letting those things stop me. If anything I will beat them one at a time. The goal is to change my lifestyle and I will change my life - period. I work full time and I am married for the second time now - it will be 3 years this fall. I have one adult son and 2 adult step sons - only the stepsons are out on their own. I have 9 chihuahuas that keep me hopping or should I say bouncing. Oh well one more thing to give me cardio. Both my parents are deceased - and I ate my way through that and my divorce. But now it is time for me to get me together before I fall apart. So that is me and I will keep on plugging away. Slow and steady wins the race. emoticon

Hi, I'm Kristina (Kris) and I live in California. I run 2 teams. I'm happily married to my hubby who is in AIT for the army, he will be coming home on the 29th, hopefully! I'm a SAHM to our 5 1/2 yr old son.

I'm planning to buy some stuff from the store here very soon, hopefully in the next couple of days. We're having a spark rally on the 22nd, if all works out right. And I plan to give some things away to the members that come to the Rally.

Hi, I'm new to the whole SparkPeople world, but I'm loving it! My goals a year ago were to Stop Smoking, Start Running, and Be a Healthy Eater. So far I've met the first one (nonsmoker for 13 months! Chantix worked for me!) and I'm working on running and eating healthy. I'm not a 'senior', but a 56 yr old body surrounding the heart and soul of a much younger person! Life is so good!

Hi there SP!!! I live in central MO. I have been unemployed since 09/2008. Yes that is correct 2008. It was rough in the beginning months but now I am used to not working. I do not want any self-pity. I am also a senior citizen. I will be getting Medicare later this year. What I wanted to say is that the Cardinals rule right now. I don't know what to think of the Rams. They can certainly do better. Maybe with the draft pick they chose might be their answer. Thank you for listening. Oh, I am okay just not used not working.

Hi, I am Deborah and live in Eastern CT. I joined SP at the beginning of February. I love the nutrition tracker too! The spark points are fun, but addictive. I bought the spark and am still reading it. I haven't bought anything else, yet... tee hee.

Hi, I'm Audrey and I live in Celebration, FL (just 10 minutes from DisneyWorld, just south of Orlando).

I joined in March and I LOVE it! The Nutrition Tracker is my favorite; I never realized I wasn't getting enough protein and folate so I'm making a conscious effort to eat more green veggies and chicken or fish.

My other problem is getting in the exercise but I've found that I do it first thing in the morning, I can't find excuses the rest of the day to fit it in.

I enjoy all the great recipes AND the other's comments. I've tried numerous new recipes and it's a good thing I love to cook. My husband is VERY supportive and is working with me on this endeavor towards losing weight and getting healthy.

I'm looking forward to finding out more about the SparkPeople Store. So far, EVERYTHING about SparkPeople is great; thank you, thank you!

Hi, I am Molly and I am new to SparkPeople this March. I am still discovering the site and enjoying feeling a part of a community. I have yet to take total control over my goals. I am making a contious effort each day to spend time on SP and reading blogs and getting connected to this site. At home I am making new "cleaner" food choices and opting away from processed foods. YET at the same time I find my self in time constraints with two active teenagers and following their schedules that I still end up with some "convenient" food choices. Overall, my daily choices are good. Where is my biggest problem? NIGHTIME, when the day finally slows down, I want to eat. I have a salty and sweet tooth and have a hard time not giving in to both. UGH! Baby steps, I know. Each day I strive to be a little better than the day before. It's not easy, but I need to be successful! Thank you SP for being here and allowing me to see what everyone else is doing and how you are making your life better. It all helps. I will get there! I am important too and I deserve to be a healthier me!

Hi - I ordered a calendar from the Spark Store and discovered this team. I have been a SP member since January 2009 and have lost 26 pounds.

Hi - I just ordered several items from the Spark Store and discovered this team.
After 3 weeks with SP I am a huge fan so wanted to see what products the store offered that I could have and which would serve as yet another reinforcement about this great program...I am also, admittedly, a bit of a shopoholic...so of course, I had to join this team so I could be notified if new, hot products are offered. Also, I have a personal goal of rewarding myself every day for my mini-achievements...I figure I could use these Spark products to "reward" myself. Also, I am now losing weight without spending $ on a nutritionist or a dietician...so, even though I just spent $100 at the Spark Store (bought a few things for my friend too who referred me to the site as a thank you) - I figure I have actually save a few hundred dollars already!!

HI - I'm Brenda and from central Ohio. I'm soon to be 48, with a great husband of 27.5 years and two adult children. One is married and in Seattle and the other is current at home going to college and working.

I'm really restarting myself this year to commit to me. I joined last June and found the site tremendous but yet overwhelming. I have the book and am reading it to add to the site. One thing is I'd like to become more involved with communicating and getting to know other members. Some teams have so many people on them. I'm taking my time with the book and plan to do all things suggested. I didn't do that the first time around.

I have a couple of new items from the store and plan to start using them. I have the start video and the cardioblast.

Hi Everyone!

I'm from northern California and think the SparkPeople store is fabulous. It's like having my own personal fitness shopper, with a flair for fun.

This team's welcome letter asked for photos of members wearing Spark apparel. I uploaded the picture I took for one of my blogs, where I happened to be wearing the bamboo top (currently, my profile image).

It was soooo comfortable, I ordered two more in other colors.

I have the capri pants (of which I just ordered a second pair, as a reward, and a third, as a birthday gift for my daughter), the jumprope, resistance bands, starter kit (I also purchased one for my daughter), squeeze ball, and I'm sure others I am forgetting.

The fleece jacket is on its way, another reward (for completing The Spark pilot program - DO NOT miss this book - see my blog if you're on the fence: www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu
