Hello All! A few years ago, my PT introduced me to hitting a heavy bag (with a sparring timer) as an alternative to other cardio. Unfortunately, my new gym didn't have a heavy bag so I got away from it in the last year. Long story short: My husband and I decided to quit the gym, and turn one of our spare bedrooms into a workout room. Last week, I bought a barely used 50# bag and stand on Craigslist for $75! I set it up right away in our new home gym and couldn't wait to get started. I downloaded a free MMA interval timer app. and blew the dust off of my pink boxing gloves. Yesterday was my first day of hitting, kicking, crunches, rest, push-ups, spazzing, lunges, rest, etc. I did 5 rounds of various exercises (3, one minute intervals w/ a 30 second rest between rounds). I'm happy to report that I'm sore today! I have no training, but I sure love my new found free-style approach to working out. It was fun and the time flew by!
