Hello Everyone. I am 34, mother of 3 with a fulll time job. I wanted to join this team because I like to goals and I love kickboxing-like excersies. Tae Bo is my favorite. I always feel empowered and a sence of acheivement after a workout. I may be quite but I am a daily user.

Hello, my name is Cassandra. I started a kickboxing/mma/jiu jitsu classes at the end of December 2011. I've been at it for a little over 3 months now and I LOVE IT!!! I have already lost a total of 3 inches (since I started measuring 5 weeks ago). I look forward to talking with people who have made this their passion as well.

Good evening. My name is Daphne and I have been doing Group Kick by Body Training Systems at my gym for 2 1/2 years now. It's my favorite class out of all the BTS Group classes they offer. I never get bored with it. I may skip classes for whatever reason but I can say it is not due to boredom. It's the best cardio workout in my opinion and it works the whole body. I look forward to being part of this team.

Hi, I am Jessi. I am new to this type of working out but I am liking it so far. I have a bag at home with a weighted base and I love it. Everything is feeling wonderful except my knuckles (I need to buy gloves and wraps soon- in the meantime taking it a little easy)..lol. I am ready to kick some butt and it makes me feel powerful so I am going to sign up at the ymca for a class and continue with my garage exercises. I am excited to KICK off the new year! :)

Hi,
I'm Jen. Already introed my self on other forum but did not put that I used to tack a kickboxing class (Muay Thai) for only 6 months and loved it but then moved and have only been able to train at home. I do have a great stand with a 100 lb bag and strike pads but it just isn't the same as training with others. I'm going to join a Krav Maga class that also uses Muay Thai but I have to wait till the kids, Twins, start school next year. I am now at 200 lbs and would appreciate any advice/motivation you guys could give!

Keep fighting,
J

i live in the lbc (long beach, ca) and found taebo about 15 years ago. then i found turbo jam which for me was more motivating because of the music. i lost 54 lbs 2 years ago and gained back 30 of it by letting stress and fatigue get the best of me. i have gained a new interest in jogging/running and am now working on finding my way back.

cheers!

p.s. so far i have RE-lost 10lbs of the re-gained 30...

Hello everyone. I'm exploring kick boxing as a way to take my workouts to the next level. I have a 10-minute solutions DVD and have done some other workouts in the past. I'm going to do a DIY punching bag soon, I'll let you know how that turns out. lol

Hi I am a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 5. I love kickboxing and just took up running in February.

I try to kickbox 3 times per week and I run three times per week. I am training for a 5K in June. I also love to strength train at the gym. The combination is an awesome feeling. My husband asked me if I was exerting or learning to fight the one day he came in the room while I was kickboxing. I found kickboxing to be the Best STress Release for my crazy days at work.

If you are new - post a NEW thread in this forum - that allows everyone to see it and be able to welcome you.

On your intro - tell us what your level of experience is (beginners are okay!), where you work out (home with dvd's or gym, etc...), what you want to learn, style of workout etc...

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hi everyone! My name is Allyson. I am fairly new to SP, but not to kickboxing.

I used to belong to a Martial Arts gym in NYC and went 2-3 days/week during my lunch break. I loved it! It relieved my stress in the middle of the day, made me feel strong and confident. I had a great instructor who really worked with each of us individually (sometimes there would only be 1 or 2 of us there), and who understood that some days, we were there just because and did NOT have as much energy as usual.

I hurt my ankle in Irish Step Dancing and had to take some time off from kickboxing as well. By the time I had fully recovered and had the go-ahead from my doc, I had switched jobs and worked nowhere near the gym and so could no longer go.

Now I have found SP as well as exercisetv.tv and am finally able to kickbox again!!! I downloaded a great video from exercisetv.tv and burn it to a DVD. I did it last night for the first time and felt great! Not only from the workout, but to be kickboxing again!

(it's the base that you fill with the weight. i think it was filled with sand because i didn't hear any water but i'm not sure.

i'll ask my instructor at the dojo next time i go. i had to miss class today because i twisted my ankle yesterday in boot camp.)

When we get a bigger place, I hope to have room for a bag of some type. Sand would probably be a good option for filling it, but you might want to ask what they filled it with at Sears. If they filled it with water, that may be why it didn't hurt.

(at sears today i was looking at an everlast bag. it was on sale for $79.99. i punched it a few times and it felt good - i hate when the bag hurts when you hit it.

it said it comes empty and you fill it with 250 pounds of water or sand. i'll have to research which option is better. i mean, with sand i'd have to buy it but it wouldn't spill, right? heh.)

(hey guys, i thought we could all give a short introduction to help us to get to know each other better.

my name is mary and i live in long beach, ca. i've been kickboxing for about 2 years now. i usually kickbox about 3 times a week at the local dojo.

i also love running and snowboarding. i run with a running group every saturday morning. i'm training for a half marathon next month. every sunday morning, i attend a boot camp at my local gym.

when i first started exercising, i consulted with my doctor and a nutritionist and discovered i was in starvation mode [not consuming enough calories] and i needed to lose 25 pounds. in two years, i've only lost 5 pounds. my goal was to lose the other 20 by end of 2008 but it didn't happen. i hope to lose the weight this year.

i hope to get to you know all of you better!)
