Anything else you want to share: I enjoy people and keep myself busy with lots of friends and my wonderful family. I never got the chance to play sports as a child so I chose to start as an adult. I play softball in the spring/summer; kickball in the fall, and bowl from September - April. I swim as much as possible, but honestly it's more hanging out with friends than actually exercising.

Anything else you want to share: As an incessant optimist, I expect to meet my goals through intrinsic determination. I let my body go and hid behind the pain of ankylosing spondylitis, a potentially debilitating autoimmune arthritis that attacks young men. I spent years blaming myriad doctor misdiagnoses for my physical lethargy. It's a rare disease. It doesn't go away, so I finally befriended it and then started kicking the stuffing out of it. After three reconstructive surgeries, I now have enough steel in my back and neck to set off airport metal detectors. You should have seen the ruckus I caused when visiting the U.S. Senate chamber for my work. What a hoot!

Hi, my name is Marcy.
I currently live in Maple Ridge, BC; however, within the next month, my husband and I will be moving back into North Vancouver, BC.
I'm not sure of the exact date as it was a couple of years ago, but I'm hoping this attempt at weight loss and healthier living is the one that sticks.
My goal weight is to be in the range of 140-160. I'm not even sure if I could get down to 140 for my body type, so I figure a nice 20 pound range is a little more realistic for me. I am currently 278 pounds, so I am hoping to lose at least 120 pounds.
My overall goal is to lose the weight that I need to so that I can live a much healthier, productive life. I want to be a good example for any children I may have in the future.
2 Random, Fun Facts about You: I am a beginner knitter, and I just find it fascinating. Also, I love to stretch, and sometimes, my pinky toe on my right foot crosses over the toe to the left of it. I giggle every time :)
Anything else you want to share: I suffer from occasional bouts of depression that I have been pretty good in handling without medication, and also, I have come to the conclusion that I may be a food addict. I'm trying my best to research this so that I can manage it as well.

I just found this Sparkteam and would like the accountability.
I am a divorced mother of 2 grown children. I have 3 grandchildren. I am determined to reach my goal. I need the accountability of this team to help me keep myself in line. As of late I have been letting myself slip up too much.
I try to keep a positive attitude and know that together we can lose this weight a get the body results we want. We know we have it in us to succeed.

I am single with no kiddos. I have been on Spark for about 6 months. I am excited about this group. I desperately need the accountability. This is a tough road especially when you are pretty much walking it alone and have such a long way to go. I am trul7y leaning on the Lord to carry me through this journey.
I am focusing on my small goals right now which is to lose 10lbs every 2 months but hopefully even faster but I think that is more realistic although I really want to say 10lbs per month : ). My looooooong term girl is to lose 150lbs

2 Random, Fun Facts about You: 1-I lived in Scotland for 3 year, both my kids were born there, and I'd go back in a heartbeat. 2- Very shy person that I am, I was on stage for a few years. Granted, it was a community theater group in a very small town, but I loved it.
Anything else you want to share: I live alone, so there is no one around to keep me accountable on a daily basis, and I have a hard time keeping myself accountable. However, I must really be ready to make a serious change because I have plopped myself in around four different places that will hold me accountable, including a weightloss class at work. (What have I been drinking?!) I also work 12 hour nightshifts over the weekend. That can really play havoc with everything. I may not seem to be around much, but that only because my home computer is really old and slow. It can take me up to two hours to go through my email sometimes, and I do have other things to do besides waitint for a page to load. ;) But I will be on SP everyday even if I don't make it here everyday.

Hello everyone. Just starting Spark and ready to kick some fat cells. Name: Teresa 35 years young, mother of 4 Location : Michigan Goal weight / goal weight loss: 165 pounds / 63 pounds Random facts about me: I love to read, garden, play games with my kids, research almost anything, and have a great outdoor day with my kids. I hate bugs (terrified really) which can make gardening tricky. LOL Also, I hate doing the dishes. Additional: I need motivation! I will lose all this weight and I refuse to give up. I will encourage others and in doing so help myself. I am a positive (at least I have a glass) type of person. It's not what you have or where you are it's how you play and how you love.

Hi eveyone. I'm new here-but not to spark people. Tomorrow it'll be one week since I joined. I really think that I'm going to likethis group and thanks for letting me join. My husbandand daughter (18 years old and lives in Pennsyslvania) love me for me. But I don't. My name is Leslie and I'm 50 years old. I live in Columbia Missouri. As of last Friday (June 10th 2011), I weighed 265 pounds. I weigh myself tomorrow. I have a tendency to either overeat or undereat. By that I mean that I can eat as much as less than or about 800 calories a day and not be hungry. Today I did pretty good as far as calories go. I ate just a bit over 1000 calories ad I did a total of 60 minues on exercising.

Random facts about you: I love challenges and HIIT workouts. I like to dance a lot and love playing at beaches. Additional: I lack commitment and accountability. I start exercises but stop them after trying for a week or so. This time, it is not the case. I want to be accountable for my workouts and lifestyle change.

Additional: I just turned 50. I am a single parent of a 10 year old. The last few years I have had a series of injuries and health issues that kept me from exercising and resulted in more stress eating...now I am injury-free and have my health issues resolved (as far as I know, anyway). I want to lose weight and get strong so that I will feel comfortable in my own skin again.

Hi! I need your help. I need to as much determination as I can get. I am a little overwhelmed so far with this website, but I am catching on a little at a time. The reason I like this team is the title. I need to be held accountable for what I eat!! The nutrition tracker is a great tool so far. I need control over my eating habits. They seem to control me these days. I have been doing a lot of stress eating and eating because I deserve to feel good!! I hit my all time high after this holiday weekend of 170 lbs. I am going to stay on track with your help! I have two kids and an active lifestyle. Always eating on the run. Snacking at night is my worst habit. Can't seem to get contol.

Overall Goal: To lose the weight I gained back after my wedding (and the injury to my right foot) and then continue on the path I'd begun before my wedding. I know I can do this and now it's time to take control of my life again.
2 Random, Fun Facts about You: 1) I am an avid reader. I enjoy a wide variety of genres and sometimes I wonder if I could write my own series and be successful. 2) I have just discovered a renewed love for bike riding! With my foot injury and the added weight have made walking difficult if not at all happening. But riding my bike.. it's pure bliss.
Anything else you want to share: I am a 24 year old newly wed (10/10/10) who is looking forward to the rest of my life and looking to shape it through my choices now. I hope to start a family of my own in the next year to 2 years and this is just the stepping stone to that. I love animals and once I lose the weight and heal my foot I want to take up horse back riding again.
And my screen name is derived from "sweet intoxikation"; showing my slight obsession with Phantom of the Opera from a young age. And yes, 'intoxikation' is spelled with a 'k' on purpose.

Goal Weight/Goal Weight Loss: Healthy weight for my age and height. I think that is somewhere around 125-140.
Overall Goal: To be healthy and fit is the main goal. It will hopefully lead be to getting my PCOS under control and ultimately being able to have children.
