Hi. I actually work at Sam's Club but since they are sister companies I joined the Wal mart team. I did work for Wal Mart for 9 years then left and went to Sam's Club 10 months later. I work in the photo lab and I actually love my job there. May, I will be at Sams 9 years. I joined Sparkpeople to learn to loose weight and raise my self esteem. I like how everyone seems to help each other here even though we have never seen each other face to face. I joined it several months ago and just last weekend decided it was time. I find there is so much motivation here on this site! I have to learn to eat and exercise with my crazy schedule as you all know it can get. It is never regular. One night I close the next I open. Anyways, I hope you all dont mind me joining! Thanks!!

What brought you to SPark People and are you striving closer to your goals? I've been overweight since elementary school. After high school my weight became somewhat of a concern for me. I would get these bursts of motivation to lose the weight every few months or so but it would never last beyond the first injuries (I was always into the idea of running being the mark of fitness and my knees just didn't like that). Over the last few years I've been gong through some emotional problems and last year they resulted in the first real weight gain of my adult life (I had been about the same weight since my sophomore year of high school). I put on about 25 lbs while taking some medication. I decided once my head got cleared that I wanted to lose weight to join the military. My parents got me a gym membership and while we were there one night a lady recommended spark people to my mom. I looked it up and joined. Since I've joined I have lost more than 60 lbs and am moving slowly towards my goals.
What is your favorite season and why? My favorite season is Spring. I love the warm weather and newness to everything.
Who would you say has influenced you the most to be who you are today? If I had to choose just one person I would have to say my dad. I've always had aspirations to be like him in many ways. He got me through school, he's helping me through things now and I'm certain that I wouldn't be where I am now without him.
What brought me here... The computer, my fat, and a desire to "get real". I don't remember where I first heard about SparkPeople, but 2 1/2 years ago I joined Weight Management through our health insurance with the goal of weight loss surgery & they talked about this site. I re-joined and did really well. I've almost reached the second anniversary of my surgery. I've lost a total of 135 pounds, and would like to lose another 30 - 40 more. That being said, I am happy to say I'm MUCH closer to my goal than I was 3 years ago!
I Love summer because there's no school and I get to see more of my grandchildren, which means I get to see more of my children. I love Fall because the temperature is more comfortable and the colors are beautiful. I LOVE winter, I get to stay home when it snows, I can knit, sew, crochet, or whatever while I'm "shut in". Spring is only an OK season, I don't like the dirty look of melting snow, or the rain, but after that the re-birth of the outdoors is very nice.
Influenced me? Well, now there's a loaded question! My grandmother taught me patience and love of family, my Aunt Monica still teaches me to be content in all things, My mother taught me endurance, my children have influenced my unconditional love with no regrets, and my husband teaches me self control, of which I still have very little!

What brought you to SPark People and are you striving closer to your goals? at first I came to Spark People for support as a care giver and looking to stop gaining weight, but wasn't looking to lose any (though I needed to) I am slowly getting to my goals. By taking it one day at a time
What is your favorite season and why? I love winter as my allergies are less and I can work on my crafts more
Who would you say has influenced you the most to be who you are today? Tough call but it would have to be my mom, she has sacrificed so much and is an excellent example of living with no regrets.
