I'm new to the team but not new to skiing. Been skiing about 15 years now and I love the sport to get me through the cold winters and get some arendalin pumping. Finally starting to get good at moguls and visiting Park City this week for vacation. I mainly like the blues and easy blacks but I would love to learn some terrain park tricks someday and maybe taking a lesson for that this week, we'll see I might work on perfecting mogul technique first.
As for my weigh loss story: I gained about 30 lbs 10 years ago after I quit smoking and I'm determined as hell to get the extra weight off. I got fed up and depressed about the extra lbs the last few years and finally hit bottom last May when I found SP. I started running around that time and I've stuck to a pretty rigorous running program of 15-20 miles per week since the summer. I've found the running has really helped with my skiing endurance and energy and I can do more than I ever did before. I'm down a little over 20 lbs since joining SP and only have about 10 more to go for my goal weight. Although I'm pretty comfortable where I am already, I still want to get fitter and see if I can get back those six pack abs I had in my early 20's. That would be total trip. I've always been a fit and active person underneath my layers of fat, I just looove good food and wine too much and always over consumed calories. I'm fortunate that I didn't need to make any major lifestyle changes to loose the weight. I still eat what I've always eaten but now it's in smaller portions and 5-6 small meals spread out through the day. I try not to let myself get too hungry so I make better choices. And as far as the alcohol I cut back and switched to light beers and wine spritzers, with an occasional indulgence at weekend parties with friends. Anyhow see you around the message boards.
