I've been to Aspen a few times, and I've usually stayed right in town. It's great to be able to walk to all the restaurants and shops, and then there are free buses to take you to all the different mountains. I usually stayed at a small, B & B type place, that was reasonably priced. Unfortunately, I can't remember their names. But if you go to Aspen's website, and search by price and location, I'm sure you'll find something. Like I said, they were in Aspen, close to the bus stop, and close to Aspen mountain.

The other option is to stay close to Snowmass. That's more of a mountain village, with slopeside lodging, but not near downtown Aspen.

As I said in my 'introduction' I'm planning a short trip out to Aspen. Actually, I have a business trip to Vegas towards the end of the month, so I thought I use the opportunity (and have my company pay for most of my airfare) to take a 3 day weekend in Aspen.

I was amazed that I can include Aspen in my flight itinerary for only about $100 more.

Anyway, while I've skied at several resorts in CO, I've never been to Aspen. I've been doing a little research on lodging, but thought I'd query the members to see if anyone had any recommendations.

All suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance!
