Welcome to the Skiing/Snowboarding team!
As a alpine skier surrounded by a team of telemarkers, I'm glad to have the free-heelers represented here.
Glad to have you and looking forward to hearing from you!
Had an amazing skitrip in sunshine and a thin lair of slush. The view from the top of the alps and the fjords was amazing. Wish I could have shared it with you. Great ski down. Only the top 200 meters was hard. Loads of snow still left! Telemark is hard on the knees, but so worth it!
Will post a few pics soon on my page.
Wow that sounds awesome. Welcome to the group!
Telemarking looks like fun, and i should really learn how to make a few tele turns as I could probably pull it off with my at gear, but I fear that I probably do not have the co-ordination for it ;p
I agree that that sounds awesome. Welcome to the team! :-) I'm pretty jealous that you get to ski for 6 more weeks. I'm sure it's beautiful where you ski...
I would love to learn to telemark. A big hurdle for me is acquiring the gear... I *just* bought some regular alpine skis for myself. I taught two of my kids to ski last winter, and I'm taking on teaching the 3rd this coming winter. A friend thinks that learning to telemark while I'm skiing with them would keep *me* working on a challenge, too. I might bite the bullet this coming winter and take a telemarking workshop to figure out if this really *is* a direction I want to take.

Run a beautiful race.

Wow that sounds awesome. So when you ski do you overlook the sea? I've seen photos of skiing in Iceland like that. Maybe when my kids grow up and I have money to throw around for cool ski trips...

I live in the north of Norway. My passion in life is skiing. We only have two short skilifts in my town so I get a lot of excercise climbing mountains. Most of our mountians and alps here range from 800 meters to 1300 m. The cool thing is we start and end in the fjords! Great way of getting into shape. The weather is heating up, so the roads are free from snow, but there is still loads around. Hope to get 6 weeks more of skiing before I change to hiking boots! I just joined sparkpeople as I really need to get into better shape and not suffer so much next season climbing mountains with all my gear!
Looking forwards to getting to know you!
