Does anyone ride in southeast Michigan? id love to get a group going regularly and maybe a trip out to tahoe at some point, i only ride with 1 person to ride with at this point and would love to build a crew out this way.

@HELENGUNTHER yea REI rocks, its the only place out this way that i could find Arbor boards, i just got the 2010 round house, only been out on it once this year but it rides really front, can't wait to ride more this year!

Hey All, Keystone opened last week. Breckridge opens on Thursady, and Vail opens the week after that. If you like skiing and riding in Colorado join the group "Colorado Skier/Riders" I would love to get a trip together for all the people that live out here and can make the trip.

Just joined, looking forward to boarding again this season! May try to get on with the local hill as an instructor.

I have been considering trying boarding, looks like lots of fun. The only problem is that it is hard to go back and be a learner again.

R well maybe one day. =]

I am a snowboarder! And you guys are probably going to laugh at me cause I love the snow and I am from Southern CA. There is a great place near my house that carries all snow and ski apparel, accessories and boards for about half the price. I try to get something new every year at that rate!

Thanks Helen,
I am going to start my shopping right after my b-day since my family usually sends me those great Visa gift cards. Have a great summer season!

I got my gear at REI, and got great prices at the end of the season and great equipment...K2 board, K2 cinch bindings (which I love) and salomon boots. REI also has a clearance section to their website, so you might have some luck there. I got mine at the store, but I had shopped around, so I know I got great prices.

Yep, one of the reasons I moved from Alaska to Durango, CO is because of the resort here and how much snowy terrain they have. Do you backcountry board at all? My hubby and I have just started and love seeking out powder patches. Thanks for the info on "The House." Funny thing is I used to get their magazine in the mail. Nice to be reminded that they still exist and to know they honor competitors prices. I love shopping for gear during the off season...so many great deals when a person doesn't care about the year it was made:)

I love that you broke a bone boarding and are still at it a decade later! Sounds like the snow runs in your blood.

I know quite a few people who have bought boards from www.the-house.com/

However, bear in mind that they will honor competitors pricing for the same gear in the same size, so shopping around becomes key.

The retail store is in Minnesota, so I've always ended up in the store and never on their website, but maybe it will lead to some other leads.

Glad to hear from you!

I am not a skier. I actually broke my arm the first time I snowboarded but had so much fun before then that I kept with it and that was over 10 years ago. I noticed that many more skiers are on this site than boarders. I am actually shopping around for new gear and would love some input on where to get this gear on-line. I already know about backcountry.com which is a wonderful site. Do you know any others like this? Tell me about some of your boarding adventures this last season! emoticon

I snowboard, but I am a way better skier. And i only got out on my board for 2 days this winter (although I didn't get out on my skis at all this winter (long story).

I have skied my whole life, but when I moved to MN there were no mountains here, so I learned ho to snowboard because I figured it would be a challenge. I have a girlfriend who also boards, so we try to take one trip out west every year. sometimes we board in MN to get us ready for our trip.
It's fun, in a different way, but I can get down way more difficult terrain on skis than on a board.

This team appears to really lean towards the skiers, so I'm wondering who the snowboarders are.

Would love to hear your perspective nearly as much as I would love to have a snowboarding co-captain!

Let's hear from you!
