Awful. I hate the congestion, and am living the but of all my childhood jokes. ;-)

Eh, it's temporary, and because my husband works in NYC. At least where we are, the commutes not too bad and we own a plot of land.

Where on the Island are you from?

I'm born and raised on Long Island, and have grown up skiing in the Catskills, at Belleayre (it's pretty much Hunter/Windham area). How's the move from NY to NJ?

Where in "downstate" NY?

I was born in the Bronx, and grew up in Carmel (Putnam County). I went to school in Albany, where I ended up working for several years post-graduation. Now I live in NJ.

Awesome. Thanks for the suggestions, I really appreciate it. I'm actually coming back from a pretty bad delt strain and resistance bands have been great, especially for the upper body stuff. Hope you have a great Montana trip!

I did the Utah trip 2 years ago. I handled Brighton well for our warm up/transition day, but the Canyons kicked my butt. This year I cross trained with ice skating and strength training and am hoping that Montana in Feb is a whole different ballgame.

I did all my strength training with resistance bands. It made it so I could do the strength stuff anywhere.

Welcome to the team!

My trainer has me doing lots of side to side jumping type moves for ski season.

For endurance you may just want to increase the cardio time, and add intervals.

Have a great trip!

Just wanted to introduce myself. Long time skier, but new to the group. I have a trip out to Park City and the Canyons planned for February so I'm trying to make sure I'm in really good shape by then. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! I get bored doing the same stuff at the gym so I LOVE new ideas!!! Great season to everyone! Thanks! emoticon
