I started snowboarding 9 years ago to show my kids that you never stop learning stuff and because they were nervous about learning a bit. I thought I was so old when I started. I'm so impressed with you learning when you did! Last year I think, was the year that my daughter finally became a better boarder than me.

Hi Sue, welcome to the ski and snowboarding team. I love snowboarding too. Infact, I was just up the mountain yesterday for a 1/2 day - we have some lovely spring snow so conditions are just lovely, and a beautiful sunny day too so we were slapping on the sunscreen!!! Good on you for doing this to be with your kids - mine have all gone for skiing but my husband and I both love snowboarding. We live in NZ so that's why we are enjoying the snow right now. Good luck with your goal, although having done it before I know you can do it again. And once your season starts you'll be burning up the calories on the slopes - I can't believe how many calories it uses!!! No wonder I used to be so fit and trim before kids!!! Stay in touch. Cheers Angela

Hello everyone!

My name is Sue and I love snowboarding. I have been riding for 3 years but I am still on the intermediate hills for the most part. I am 47 this year. I started snowboarding to be with my kids. I was very out of shape at the time. I stuck with it through the winter with the help of many motrin! After that I vowed to get in shape an lost 50 pounds. I kept it off for two years but this last year it has started creeping back on. I am on Spark People to get my focus back, get moving, and get back into shape!
