Wow! Twenty pounds! Great job Kathryn. You're looking real good.
I am really looking forward to being lighter. Every day is such a challenge. I'm glad I can come back to my computer to visit with Spark friends. I was successful at Jenny Craig four years ago but the once a week visits were not enough. By day three of each week, I always started to struggle. Spark People really keeps you honest!
HELLO I AM NEW TO THIS TEAM, HAVE BEEN ON SPARK PEOPLE SINCE 9/18/2011 AND HAVE LOST ABOUT 20 LBS. I AM REALLY ENJOYING MYSELF, I THINK SPARK PEOPLE IS THE BEST. I LOVE ALL THE SUPPORT I GET FROM OTHER MEMBERS AND WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THIS GROUP. I AM 55 YEARS OLD AND LIVE IN SACRAMENTO, CA.
If you focus on results nothing will change. If you focus on change you will get results.

Hi! I am new to this forum. I am 56 yoa and live alone with my dog Max. I live in SW Houston area and looking for other members in 50+. Oh I guess I better tell you something about my self. I am single, never married. I have been a member of Sparkpeople over a year. I enjoy walking, movies and just about anything. I actually jumped out of a perfectly sound plane in my early 50's. That was alot of fun, but really scary too. I am glad I did it though. I hope to learn from other 50+.Oh, I forgot to tell you that I have lost 100 pounds. I used to weigh 279 ouch! Now 170 yee ha! I am now down 162!

I too am back after some time - I had lost 80 lbs. about 6 years ago and slowly 50 lbs. have come back after I went to 'maintenance'. This time I will lose and stay healthy. I will make it happen! No matter who wins your bet - you are both winners because your son and you will have lost weight. Keep it as a bet and you will both lose but 'win' in the end. You will have a healthier son and he will have a healthier mom. Good Luck and I will look forward to updates.

Hi Rosanna, I used to use Richard Simmons, I love his dance ones. I now use Leslie Sansones walking dvds. They are fairly simple to use but when I do use them I lost the weight. You can walk as little as one mile & get up to 5 miles & never leave your house. Good luck!

Welcome back, I don't have Richard Simmons DVDs but I have used Walk Away the Pounds DVDs and I found that they worked really well for me. I mostly walk, I walk everywhere whenever I can. That way I know I am getting exercise. I even walk to and from work almost everyday!

I wish you- and your son- luck! I love walking and could do it with/without music- but I used to have an oldies tape to walk with. Richard Simmons... don't know what time of day I would enjoy listening to him... Have you thought of a Zumba CD?
My name is Rosanna and I dropped out a while back but I'm back and OMG what have I done. My 22 year old son and I made a bet ... see who loses more weight between 11/11/11 and 06/30/2012. I initiated the bet now I have to win. I truly don't know how I'm going to do it. I need your support and ideas. I don't like the gym scene but I do have the Richard Simmons DVD's has anyone had any success with Richard Simmons?
