I never thought I'd enjoy a cruise with all the temptation and the string bikinis--who needs it?
It's good to know they aren't all as I'd imagined. I might actually take one some day, but I'm really pretty much a home body and not compelled to see exotic places. It would be fun to do at least once, though.

LHLADY517, the only traveling I do any more is to visit my grandkids. I live in NY and they live in CA so if I want to be a part of their lives, I have to go see them as often as I can. Someday, when they get a little older (they are 7mos, 3.5 and 4.5) mayber I can take them on a trip somewhere so I can see other places again!!!

I cruise a lot - my sister-in-law and I decided to start an annual "LHH" cruise (leave husbands at home). We both have very understanding husbands and the kids are grown, so that works out well. We may try a trip out West next year, too, if I can plant another money tree...
Hi, Everyone! This is my first post on the 50+ females since introducing myself. I'm 56 and still struggling a bit to get back into some of the clothes in my closet, but gradually it will happen. I just want to encourage any of you ladies out there to still plan on taking those vacations and cruises, and don't worry about gaining weight. My sister-in-law and I were just on a 7 day cruise aboard a ship that really promotes healthy lifestyles. We were able to workout every day (three of the seven were on the ship), took the stairs instead of the elevators, enjoyed the adult pool/solarium (the skinny minis were showing off at the bigger pool - they can have it)had incredible gourmet but healthy food, and enjoyed a good book in the Persian Garden at the spa onboard. Don't be afraid - we didn't gain a pound, and we didn't starve, either. I actually felt more disciplined onboard than I did when I got home - maybe it was because someone else did all the cooking and cleaning...Just two major things that I really tried to take out of my diet - sugar and bread - bread's a lot easier to ignore than sugar.
