I can really relate to things that I have had laying around that I didn't get to yet like crochet, knit and cross stitch projects, forget about all the books I keep getting and not finishing; in fact last week, I canceled Doubleday book club because I have enough books to read to last me the rest of my life!! I have just started again on my craft projects, and I am 54; will be 55 this year, and feel like I really need to get going as time is running out!!
Lizzygc, how funny about your 50th BDay being the ultimate hangover! I can so relate, because I regret all the abuses I've done to myself over the years without realizing. I was also a smoker and gave it up---this is the very best thing you can do for yourself! It's not easy, and I applaud you for doing it. Everything else from here on out will be easy compared to that....LOL!
Anyway--good for you for finding SP, and acting on it. A similar feeling came over me on my 50th. I just thought about all the craft projects I was storing that I meant to get to someday, and the things I hadn't done that I meant to, and I felt kind of a panic that maybe time was running ahead of me somehow and it was soon to expire!
Glad to hear that others have these time running out feelings.
Hi and welcome to the team. I here to tell you it can be done. I also smoked and overate and felt like if I didn't do something about it soon ~ I wouldn't be around to see my grandaughter grow up. I quit smoking about 7 years ago, and just last year I got around to losing weight. I am now almost at my goal weight and I feel better than I have in years. Oh yeah ~ I'm also going through menopause.
This team will give you the motivation you need to lose the weight. Someone is always willing to help when you need it. So don't be afraid to ask.
I wish you all the success in reaching all your goals.

I am looking forward ,with your help,to turning my life around. With the on set of menopause, turning 50 and quitting smoking, I have realized that I can't continue to not contribute to my health and fitness. I jokily called my 50th birthday "The hangover of my life" because of all the abuse I have given my body in the past,I now have to give myself a giant vitamin B shot, to feel normal.
