Hello Kitty ..... heard that before somewhere ...... I am also near Wakefield, I am 55 this August and want to shed some weight for the day, I also have knee and back trouble, run slowly and am a crafter (wood turning) , so you're not alone!

I wannabe a fit Granny! I think losing weight may well help me get more mobility back so I can walk further and keep up with my wee grandson, Rhys. 'cos Nanna is rubbish on the slides and climbing frames !

Hi Kitty Welcome to the team. Feel free to join in the challenges - this month's habit/challenge is exercise so pop on over to the thread and let us know how you are doing. This week we are just logging any exercise we do so that we have a starting point to build on in the next couple of weeks.
A few of us are doing the Race for Life runs this Summer, all around the region, so I'm sure we will be giving each other support as we all train for the events. I'm also doing a 10k (Jane Tomlinson's Run for All in York) for the 4th time this year but it is the only 10k that I will do, apart from that it is 5k. Saying that, I'd love to do a half marathon at Disney.

Hi all, Just started to find my way around the site and wanted to get to know others in my area. I have managed to put on 4 stones (still can't get my head around pounds and I'm sure I don't want to know what 4 stones in pounds is!!!) over the last 3 or so years. I have just turned 49, have a developed knee and back problems and thought it was time to take a bit more care of myself. I used to run (it was only technically running--very slow!) and have completed the great north run twice (again very slowly) so my goals are to run a 10k and be 3 stone lighter by my 50th (next Jan). I love crafting, particularly knitting, unfortunately thses activities don't burn many calories.
