I had a good laugh at a Republican young man who said he'd never realized how "vile" right-wing talk radio was until this election. This young man's wife is voting Democrat (last 2 elections she voted R) and I bet you anything he'll be a convert, as well. All you have to do is listen to the hate and crap they spew - and if you aren't totally ignorant - you recognize it as bile. T
I think he did great job. The Democrats are running a very civil campaign. They take their stabs at McBush but, only on policies from what I've heard. I wonder, will the ReThuglicans do the same? HHMMMMM????
I live in Denver and I have to say I barely recognize the town. Denver has always been a blue city in a red state, but it's always had its share of Republicans. Now, when I meet someone, it's just assumed that we are both voting for Obama. In fact, the first question asked when you meet someone new is, "Are you going to the convention?" My answer, by the way, is YES! I have a ticket for Obama's acceptance speech.
Last night I was at a local bookstore, and Nancy Pelosi was doing a book signing. I didn't see her, but there were protesters everywhere. Not a single one of them that I saw were Republicans though...they were pro-Nader. I think that's telling. The political climate is changing.

"Loose" is the way your clothes might fit after you "lose" a lot of weight.
Very well said, Wannabe....... The religious fanatic right-wingers in Florida are using the so-called "marriage amendment" as their wedge issue. Its simply a campaign tactic - that some are falling for. T PS - we are off to the Obama campaign headquarters grand opening tonight. I WOULD HAVE NEVER BELIEVED SUCH A THING WAS POSSIBLE IN THIS RED AREA OF THE STATE!!!
I didn't watch the CNN specials on Obama or McCain, but I did happen upon the interview with the nurse who testified on behalf of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA). I have always been a supporter of a woman's right to choose, but when I listened to her testimony, I was more than disgusted with the reality that infants who survive abortion have been simply cast aside to die. Obama did not support the BAIPA. I think issues like who voted for or against this act, are much more important than who cheated or didn't cheat on their wives or husbands. The act did pass in the Illinois Senate after Obama went to the US Senate.
Obama Campaign Continues Effort to Obscure Opposition to Born Alive Infants Protection Act
WASHINGTON, Aug. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Barack Obama for President Campaign has responded to new documentation revealing that Obama has misrepresented his position with regard to opposing the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.
Jill Stanek is the nurse who testified in support of the BAIPA. She has a website: www.JillStanek.com
I was wondering if anyone watched Wednesday's (8/20) CNN special on McCain and Obama? I watched it and thought the series was rather good. Probably will watch it again off the DVR, but I was struck by finding out McCain had cheated on his first wife for so long, something like 7 years. And that some of his biography dates are skewed by the facts, such as applying for a marriage license in Arizona with Cindy while still technically married to Carol, although the divorce was 6 months away from being finalized.
Now, if this were a Democrats immorals, the Republicans would be all over the charts about it, yet, when one of their own it's brushed under the rug.
When I was on vacation last week in the Outer Banks and the news of Sen John Edwards broke, every station was all over it. I sat and watched Hannity/Colmes on Fox, someone mentioned McCain's affairs and Hannity said "well that was 20 years ago.. old news" Yet we heard about Clinton's affairs from times gone by endlessly, still to this day.
Sen Obama is playing this smart and not attacking McCain's character and only attacking his policies. Kudos to Sen Obama for playing smart
