Hey, I just found a cookie recipe that is vegan, clean and probably delicious from the look of it. It will even please the raw foodists among us. It's from Dr. Ben Kim

I should post this on the recipes forum

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

lol, that's exactly what turned me off as a child. "chewing flesh" Blech. People think it's so weird that I've been a veg-head since I was a kid, but when I explain why they tend to run away... emoticon

I started as a Flexitarian I guess. Eating meat but only on rare occasions. Then It became only fish and chicken. Now no flesh at all. I never really go in to detail as to why. That is not important to anyone but me. But I also actually do not like the actual chewing of the flesh. It just grosses me out.

Hi I started the veg journey purely for health reasons, I know the ethical, moral and environment considerations and i agree with much of it but that does not make my choices. As Ani has said we each have our own reasons. Although we don't agree with somebody we do respect those choices

For the vegan/vegetarian viewpoint, I'd recommend the movie Forks Over Knives. I really enjoyed it.

I'm not 100% vegan (darn tasty Greek yogurt), but I try to eat clean. I think dairy might be a good thing for me to try to go without to see if it solves any stomach/intestinal problems. I just haven't found the best substitutes yet, especially because I'm gluten-free as well.

There are a whole mess of us with various food needs, so there's always someone to chat with emoticon

Is it because of my posted article? Gosh, we can all have different opinions. I have my own, you have your own. No condemnation, just sharing of ideas. I posted an article that really shows my take on diet and health. Now someone else can post something that shows their side. Everyone's opinion is valuable. I won't take it as a personal jab if anyone here has strong reasons for believing in veganism or vegetarianism. Maybe you can educate me.

Okay, that said; I need to apologize for coming on so strong with a new team member...I wasn't thinking very clearly and I want to be more thoughtful in the future. There are so many people on this team that I have come to know and we all know that we have different opinions and have become comfortable with that. But that isn't the case with a newby. Again, I will be more careful in the future.

I also want to say this is not a moral choice for me. I don't need to be shown why i'm not going to save the world or help animals by not eating them. I am making a food/diet choice and my reasons for it are my own.
I hope everyone can respect that choice as i respect everyone elses choice of what they put into there body.
I have decided to leave this group. I don't think this is the place for me :) good luck on all your journeys

Hi all..
I guess i should clerify I WAS paleo but i found with that i held a ton of weight around my mid section. I understand that people may not be all for my diet but to each his own.
I get my protien from quinoa, chick peas, fake meat, protien powder.

Hi RMOSKAL

You can certainly eat clean and be vegan, AND get almost all (B12 supplement a must) of your nutrients. There are plenty of vegan groups on the site that will support your decision. There's a raw food one that's predominantly vegan and the group is really nice and shares tons of health info. Feel free to PM or friend me.

Hi I do have a juicer but not every body does, I blend my veggies as well because it is hard for me to chew, not only that I can take in more as a soup than as a salad

Oh, Mike: invest in a good juicer and juice every morning. No chewing required and all the nutritious benefits of your veggies (and a bit of fruit can be tossed in too). If you want to eat the fibrous part you can save some of the pulp and eat it separate. You can take a sharp kitchen knife and chop it up, put a sauce or some mayo on it--a bit of S&P and it's pretty good. You don't need much!

You don't need to know how to cook to juice your raw vegetables.

I want to do the best I can for this planet and for my body. I love and respect animals and want the very best for them too. Here's all the reasons I am not either vegetarian or vegan. Read this carefully:

Hi I am a vegetarian and trying to eat clean as well, it is hard but you can do it. My problem are less with diet and more with excuses to not do it, plus I don't cook. I have found that eating whole foods, produce does take more time not to mention fruits and veggies you have to chew real well to get the benefit

Wow! How do do you eat paleo and vegan? I'm basically paleo(primal) and the paleo diet is mainly meat and veggies. Anyhow, I don't really agree with vegan principles for myself but I also believe that we should all do what's right for ourselves. I just find it hard to think you can get enough protein on a paleo diet ad a vegan. How donyoundo it.?
Anyhow, I hope you find some other clean vegans. I'm curious to know.
Now where you get protein from..

Hello out there :)
I am newly vegan but pretty farmiliar with the eating clean idea and i'm hoping to be able to bring my vegan lifestyle and clean eating together. I have been eating a paleo diet (high fat low carb) for a few years and i find it's just not cutting it and it wasn't satisfying me at all and i was starting to binge on the big bad snack foods like chips! (ooh nooo)
BUT never fear my weight is under my control and so is what i put into my body.
I wam hoping to find other eat clean vegans to help me on my journey :)
