It's great that you've decided to live healthier, and sparkpeople is a great resource to do it. Just start with small steps, follow the sparkpeople diet which focuses on small changes. I live in PA so I can't be of much assistance with a fitness buddy. Maybe see if there is a sparkteam around your area?

Hi JUDYJLE and welcome to Sparkpeople. I know at first it seems overwhelming but similar to the weight loss jouney we're all on, you have to take one day at a time to acquaint yourself with the countless groups, sites, blogs, videos, tracking plans etc available to you. I've been erratically watching and participating for a couple of years now and unfortunately have not made myself available to many of the perks offered. BUT, I keep checking back and sharing once in awhile for my own benefit as well as what I might be able to offer to others. Around here it's "Ask and you shall receive". Ask questions and assistance and you'll be amazed at all the answers, suggestions and feedback you'll receive. This is a great and beneficial site with so much to offer, especially positive, helpful people/friends. Unfortunately I live too far (New York) to be of any help as a fitness buddy but I'm sure you'll hear from someone in your area. Best wishes!!
