Armymom - Thank you! I sure hope I do. My boyfriend is actually in the army...just starting to get out but I just wanted you to know that I have a lot of respect for your whole family. You have my support as well.
Claire - I can only hope that the people around me start to pick up some of my newly re-acquired healthy eating tips. It's certainly not easy sitting by and watching them eat chips and candy and I'm eating peaches and carrots...though it's easier since I like healthy food and used to be very into eating natural and healthy. The one thing I can say about that is that it gives me a rush to know that I'm doing something good for myself and in the long run I'll be happier and healthier for it. I'm glad that your husband started picking up your good habits, I hope I have the same experience =)
CM- Thank you, I hope I do.
Best of luck,

I know how hard it can be to try to live healthy if you are confronted with all that junky CONVENIENCE. When I came here few years ago I was overwhelmed by it (bisquits in a tube? cookies to cut off and bake?) and I quickly gained enough pounds to "grow out" of all of my clothes.
Spark people is a great place to learn and get motivation, and I have been talking to my husband about all the things I've learned and eventually he saw my effort and my progress and learned something about healthy choices too.
GLAD TO HAVE YOU ON THE TEAM. YOU WILL FIND ALOT OF SUPPORT HERE. AND IF YOU NEED ANYTHING AT ALL I HERE FOR YOU. WELCOME TO THE TEAM

My name is Rita and I'm 24 years old I used to be in shape, I used to play sports, I used to be active. But lately, I have gotten lazy and complacent. The last time I was in shape was almost three years ago and I'm finally starting to get myself together and redefining myself. I have some support from family members and my boyfriend but it's hardly enough. Everyone in my family is overweight and my beau is a junk food addict (vegetable is a four letter word for him) so it's been difficult to stay on track with full fat cheese, ice cream and chips in the house but I'm trying. Which is exactly why I need the extra support. I am always looking for new fitness buddies and I would LOVE to talk to anyone who shares my goals. I hope to get some new friends and learn new tips and tricks so please don't hesitate to contact me...I love to chat =)
