Try chewing gum instead - keeps your mouth busy and gives you the taste of a treat without the calories.

I have had a couple of "excess" days
not completely whacko
but high in calories and fat

following a weigh in with my trainer -- hmmmm
could one have something to do with the other?

Hello! What beautiful help has come your way. Remember write before you bite. Before you put that cookie in your hand pick up your pen and write it done. Are you sure you really want to write it and calculate the calories that are possibly going to cause you to go over your range.
The other choice you have is you to think I must drink a glass of water first and then if you still have the desire write it and eat it. These are ideas to think about perhaps they can be a benefit.

first of all dont beat yourself up--we have all been where you are. do you have your goals--if so review them. track all your food it will help you focus on what and when you are eating. also journal. sometimes it is a fear of success or a rebellion of some type. read the articles on those subjects. you did exactly right in coming to the others for help. if you are back from vacation, go back to your regular routine, clean out your kitchen so there is nothing there except what you have on your meal plan. try the 21 day challenge that is on the oa teams web site. hope some of this helps you. you are worth the effort. emoticon

Start moving your legs or your arms everytime your hand starts to move toward the snacks! Don't let those fingers near your mouth! You know you can do this because you already have! Have faith and do what you know to do. It's good that you reached out for help! Let me know if you need additional support because we all do from time to time! emoticon Remember...you are making a lifestyle change NOT a strict diet. As soon as you deny yourself a bite or a taste of something your mind digs in and convinces you that you NEED it! But, really you don't..you just want it because you can't have it! Stay focused and keep moving!

im not new to sparkpeople but this is my first message board post. i lost about 35 pounds using this website and for a few months followed my diet strictly and felt really great about my body... recently however ive been on vacation and ive basically been on a 3 week binge. i cant stop eating and i feel disgusting. i eat vegan cookies and cake and anything i can get my hands on until my stomach hurts so bad it feels like its going to explode. im going crazy. how do i stop binge eating??
