I know exactly how you feel. About 7 years ago I lost 75 lbs by exercise and eating right. Gradually over a few years I have put back on @ 40 lbs of what I had lost, at first I wanted kick myself for allowing it to happen - but realized it was up to me to start a healthy lifestyle again. When I first lost the weight I set small goals of at least 5 lbs a month, it feels really good when you can reach a goal. Take baby steps and you will get there. This time it's a little different for me, I am loosing more inches than pounds - I just keep pushing along because a loss is a loss ....that number on the scale does not define who I am - I always feel better when I am taking care of myself. I think loosing weight and keeping it off is one of the hardest things to do, but the benefits are so worth it. Good luck to you!!

Hi Andrea,

Welcome! I'd love a fast forward button too! I think it helps to have a series of smaller shorter term goals.

I joined spark people before and never managed to stick to it. When I joined I had about 50-60 lbs I wanted to lose. Now I have over 100 to lose and I'm feeling overwhelmed. I know I need to lose it but knowing that I have such a large goal is daunting. Anyone out there have any tips on how to stay motivated on such a long jouney. I set a goal weight of 125 (believe it or not I ued to be there) and a goal date of Sept. 21, 2012. Oh boy I would love a fast forward button lol!
