Perhaps a richer life as we discover new things to help us cope!

Sometimes it is hard to know when to give in and have a small piece, and when just to say no; when the thought of having no more chocolate is depressing us, and when we are depressed for other reasons and want the chocolate because of that...

(I personally have almost no trouble turning down nachos or chips, and certainly have no cravings for them, but I do love chocolate. I rarely buy it though.)

Nah! Of course not! You would not be the one to derail my efforts! I was not exactly sure how to say that but I understood what you were saying. I just wasn't sure why I was having the issues I was a few days ago.All I kept thinking was stuff like," Why can't I just eat what I want?" And dwelling on that I think made me have a small depressed time. I don't have depression I just have times where I am very weak and just get down. Food seems to be the root of most of it most of the time. Thanks for caring!! :)

Wow Crystal, good job on your success so far! I just wanted to clarify something tho. What I meant by eating something I was craving and it making me feel better was like how nachos help me feel better =(. Not a craving that one would want to give in to! ;) Also, I have a feeling that I would be better served by fulfilling my desire at the moment for company or comfort.

Anyway, hope I'm not over analyzing; I just dont want to be the one that derails your efforts!

Cheers.

Welcome and good luck! I didn't think of something like you just said it. I have just went through a small depression state and I didn't even consider that fact that it could have been related to not getting something I was craving! Thanks for adding that info! Good luck with your journey!!

Hi, I'm 39, part time student, part time volunteer, and part time sign language interpreter. =)
I actually want to ultimately lose 40 lbs but decided to do it in stages and set a goal loss of 20 for now. Like perhaps many of ya'll, I knw alot about nutrition but don't apply it.
My main problem is when I get hungry I get emotional (esp. depressed). I HATE THAT! As soon as I eat what I'm craving, all is well. =\ The only weight loss book I've ever bought is Shrink Yourself, GREAT info but apparently not enough. I love positive information and real talk. Look forward to the discussion! =)
