Thanks for the great ideas. I too try to make a large batch of soup on Sunday's and then freeze half. I can have a healthy soup every day. I also make extra chicken, turkey or shrimp for dinner and then use the left-over portion for lunch the next day with my salad. It's so true, we can eat better and save money too!

emoticon Great idea. I have been freezing the chili and soup leftovers to reheat for another meal in another week for the family. I believe I will begin to package the leftovers individually just for me. Thanks!

I've started making a healthy soup, stew or chili every Sunday afternoon, to take to work. Then I change it up during the week with my sides, sometimes yogurt, cottage cheese or bread. I also have a bag of fruit, usually oranges and apples and I have a 2 gallon jug of water in a fridge I share with only one other person. I've got it made at work and I'm saving money now that I'm no longer running out for fast food at lunch.

You are lucky to have a cafeteria that has healthy choices. I always bring my lunch to work with me - I also bring healthy snacks with me where ever I go. It helps keep me on track.

What a blessing to have good options in the cafeteria.

I took my hubby to the VA hospital for a follow-up after his open heart surgery and we couldn't find anything except for a dinner salad that was remotely healthy,and then they only had full fat dressings. Since then I always try to carry something healthy with me.

Just thought I'd introduce myself. A healthy lunch at work is day is definitely one of my goals. I find I work much better. Luckily for me, even on those days when I don't pack lunch or when I really, really don't want what I pack for lunch there are some good options in the cafeteria.
