Hi! I'm new. I was excited to find this team. I had my workout clothes laid out this morning and banged my foot into the table last night so I couldn't walk on the treadmill. I dusted off my old Oxycise DVDs and was surprised at what a great workout it was--and I could do it despite foot pain!
Thanks so much Tricia! You've given me so much. I appreciate knowing that BodyFlex really works!
I will start doing it two times a day starting today.
I got Greer's book out of the library "Be A Loser" and read it and read it. I copied the drawings with the exercises. I have a tv that let's you play videos, so I'm going to go on amazon and get the original video.
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate everything you wrote!!!!
About ten years ago my aunt introduced me to Body Flex, before Greer came out with the gym bar. There was a 20 minute video with floor exercises. My mother had a little trouble with it some of the moves, but being in my 20's at the time, I could follow along easily. I lost 30 pounds in three months and didn't have to watch what I ate. Sometimes I would do it twice a day. Once first thing in the morning and then before bed. I stopped doing it and have now gotten the newer verison with the gym bar. I have used it twice but I think I like the older verison better. I will do a combo of both, probably alternate every other day because the gym bar offers resistance training.
I feel really terrible about not doing something that I know that worked for me for so long. I apprciate the support. It is hard sometimes to take the time to do what I know what I am supposed to do.
Hi Shel and Tricia!!!! You are both such an inspiration. I personally love BodyFlex and even though I've tried Oxycise! it wasn't quite right for me either.
Tricia!!!! I am so glad to learn that BodyFlex helped you lose 30 pounds quick. I always wonder if I am doing it right because so far I can't really tell a big difference. But I've only started to really do it daily last week.
If you have any hints about why it worked so great for you, I'd be truly grateful. I have been stuck on a plateau for a really long time.
Also, thank you both for the info about Paul McKenna. I'm going to look him up on Amazon right away.
Thanks Shell. I have heard about Oxycise and my mom shared the book with me. I have tried it, but I tend to revert to the Body Flex breathing. I guess I just need to coordinate my breathing techniques.
I saw Paul McKenna a few years ago on a 4 weeks series on TLC. I was very impressed with his methods and sometimes when I have a craving, I try one of his methods and it totally works for me. I thought about buying his book, but I haven't done it yet. Maybe I need to give it a second look.
Thanks for responding to me and good luck with your journey!
Hi Tricia! I'm new on this list too. :) I also did Bodyflex back pre-kids and shrunk myself to a more comfortable size. That was 15 years ago though! I'm now doing Oxycise, which I prefer because the breath is a bit more gentle and the body positions feel great for me. We'll see if I get results with it!
I'm also following an eating program by Paul McKenna called "I Can Make You Thin." Sounds pretentious, lol, but it's all about listening to your own body and eating consciously. I'm confident that with these two programs working together I'll be feeling healthier in no time!
Hi there, I am Tricia from VA. I did Body Flex 10 years ago and lost 30 really quickly, but I got away from it after I got pregnant with my first child. Unfortunately, I gained all that back and then some, but am ready to begin it again. I glad to find that there are other folks out there that use Body Flex. When I mention to people about it and describe it, they look at me like I am nuts.
