HI there, welcome to SP. I hope that by now, you have lost even a little as I know just what you are talking about... Every decade my body seems to give me a message that it is harder and harder to loose weight. And I have always considered myself a potential fatty, and even been a fatty!! SP has helped me drop 8 kg's so far, after my hysterectomy at age 47 and then some hormone issues. Also picked up problems with my feet and knees so cannot jog any more, so had to change shift on what exercise I do.
SO here my tips: Walking is great, at least a 45 minute walk as fast as I can manage, but I also invested in an elliptical trainer which helps me to loose weight (as opposed to walking which tones and helps maintain...) Keep to the calories you are allowed. Weigh and Log religiously the first 3 - 6 months. I eat all foods, including the odd chocolate. Follow all SP advice such as stocking up on low-cal snacks for those I-cannot-resist-moments, lots of fresh fruit and veg. Make a shift in your mind and realize that you are in this to change your lifestyle. It's the long haul. You are not dieting, you are learning to eat healthy! And Good luck!!
Hey, I'm new to spark people. I am 48 years old. I have two children a girl, 19 and a son, 20. I was married for 19 years when my hubbie decided he didn't love me any more. I've been divorced for 2 years. I found out I had breast cancer in 2003. Had surgery, radiation & chemo. Unlike most, I gained weight while going through chemo from the steroids they gave me. After that, I lost and gained weight 3 times in the last 6 years. I have been walking/some running, watching what I eat all summer and have not been able to drop a pound. I had a hysterectomy in April for cancer prevention. I'm getting so fed up. Also, after I walk, I continue to be sore in my legs and hips, so that after a few days, I have to skip a couple of days. It's so frustrating. Does anyone have any tips??
