I have two grown children who live out of town. I have recently remarried after being single for 16 years. My husband loves to cook EVERYTHING. I'm very blessed to have met him and wouldn't trade him for the world. Since we've been married a little over a year, we are getting more comfortable with each other. Now, I can politely turn down the large portions and he is ok with that.

We keep saying that after the holidays, we'll get on track. However, it seems as though there is always some "good reason" to eat all the tasty things!

Well, my first day down. And you are right, we'll get there one day at a time!

I know what you mean. I spent the last month baking cookies and making party mix. I also have 3 sons, a husband, and a father-in-law that LOVE to eat that I cook for every night!

I'm not a big sweets eater.... I like salt, chips, Fritos... That's my weakness.... and Diet Mt. Dew.. But I've been working very hard drinking my water, and also made time to walk a two-mile with Leslie Sansone.....

Just work it one day at a time,,, you and I will get there!

When you're at the end of your rope...... grab God's!

I like the little saying you have at the end of your reply...about being at the end of my rope!

Thanks for the encouragement. My biggest obstacle is wanting my sweets and being a muncher. I did give the dogs my last bit of cookies, but now my husband is asking for a pie! HELP! LOL

Hey sweets, I understand what you are saying! I'm 45 also, and it does seem to be a lot harder to get the weight off! But NOT impossible, just means we have to focus and work a little bit harder! WE CAN DO IT!

I'm 45 and overweight. I never really had to worry about it until I hit my 40's. Until then, I thought gaining weight after 40 was all a myth! But, within the last few years, I've gained 30+ pounds and its not coming off. This appears to be a pretty neat forum, I'm excited about getting the support!
