I didn't think I had support when I started either. I had been married to a man who was not supportive at all.

It took a while for me to realize that I was my own support system, but I started tracking what I ate, it really makes a huge difference. It helps me see what I'm doing and where I am calorie wise. I can do it from my phone now which makes it much easier than writing it down in a notebook then figuring out the calories later. I also know each meal where I stand. My sister and I went out to eat and she even looked up the calories of the meal before she ordered so she could stay in her range.

I started walking a month or two later. I actually drove to a flat trail a few miles from my home and walked. I didn't want to walk near my house and have the neighbors talk.

It was amazing how quickly things worked and how much better I felt.

Set small goals and build on your success. You can do this.

I stay motivated by trying to be active on sparks people. The blogs are interesting and inspiring. I start making excuses for not exercising, then someone's blog inspires me. I make sure I log in my fitness minutes. I don't really diet, I just exercise. But, I do watch what I eat. I don't really have any support at home either. So I find my support here. Anyway, have fun looking around, and log in everyday.

Hello everyone! My name is Erin and I have been a sparkpeople member for a while, however I never really used the resources or followed through. I am fed up with feeling bad about myself and need to make a change. I do not have the best support system around me, at least when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, so I am hoping to meet some people that can keep me motivated and inspired and hopefully I can do the same for them.
