Way to go Chris - I love walking as well and get up early every morning before work to get some miles in. I have to laugh though, this morning when i went for my walk i was seriously attacked by three different swarms of sprinklers! It was like someone was watching me and hitting a remote control button to mess with me. Got to love it - i see basically the same avid walkers every morning out walking under the stars - and about half of us are wet but happy!

Hi my name is Chris and I too love to walk. I walk ALL over town, I walk to the grocery store to buy food to make dinner, pay my water (that one round trip is just over 6 miles). I will tell you this make sure you get yourself a great jogging stroller that really does help.

Welcome. Get that stroller out and take that baby walking. It is such a great thing to do and you will feel better for it. It is easiest for me to walk as soon as I get home from work before I do other things. Great unwinding time and great to get it done.
One advantage I discovered is that the walk will give me more energy for the rest of the evening. So, instead of taking a nap, I put on the headphones and listen to my books (like that better than music.)
You can do this. Remember to start changing those eating habits also. Find healthier habits you can live with so you will not spend your life going "on" and "off" diets. It will become a lifestyle and you can live this way the rest of your life.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this Sparkteam (and site!) I just wanted to introduce myself to the team and get to know some people. My name is Heather, I'm 24 years old and I live in Ashland, KY with my 9 month old son Damien, and my boyfriend Patrick. I came to SparkPeople to help me lose my baby weight, which I haven't lost YET! I have a tendency to slip back into my old eating habits, and before I came to this site almost a week ago, I was STILL eating like I was eating for two! My goal is to go from my 210lb self to my pre-baby weight of 160lbs. I'm looking for some friends to chat with on here and honestly, I could use some encouragement as I have low motivation (it stems from depression and anxiety).
