and welcome to the team! I walk every day and usually do 2 miles and or 10,000 steps. My hubby just fixed my pedometer so I am off and walking and now able to measure accurately. Best of luck on your journey and looking forward to hearing from you.
I'm new here to Teams and community participation. I am a mom of two special needs kids (one with severe autism and one with HLHS - a congenital heart defect). Needless to say, my hands are very very full! I'm also a choir director, have written a book on caregiving (The Complete Caregiver Journal Workbook) and maintain my TCC website.
Walking is my favorite form of exercise - I was very happy to see this team listed, as I plan on making walking a major component of my workout plan. My greatest accomplishment with walking was doing the entire Avon Walk (marathon and a half over two days). I walked every step and came in solidly in the middle of the pack. This was my gift to myself for my 40th birthday. It's been three years since then, and the weight has piled on - I was hardly slim to begin with. Now I'm hoping to reverse the trend in a steady-but-sure path to a healthy weight. My goal is to lose 80 pounds, but if I feel fabulous before reaching that ideal goal, I'll be happy enough, as my main goal is to feel healthy, active and energetic.
