Thanks for the warm welcome! DH and I walked with the furkids in the forest preserve ( a little hilly) for 1 hour 45 minutes on Saturday. My calorie monitor said I burned 800 calories! Whoohoo! I guess I am happy for the calorie burn but sad that I am that out of shape. Oh well, working on it. I am even having fantasies of getting up 30 minutes early (translate 4:30 AM) and walking a mile before getting ready for work! Love the inspiration of this team.

The fourth glass of wine is always a good idea before you do it and a really bad idea afterward! ;-)

It is far easier to MAKE time to exercise than it is to FIND time to exercise. You want results???? MAKE it happen.

Welcome. Now that the weather is getting better and days longer, I find that a walk after work helps as well. Then I can come in, eat and settle down for the evening.

Hi all,
I'm new to this team. I have been on SP since early Jan. I am so glad there is a team devoted to walking. I have the BodymediaFit calorie monitor and have learned that I actually burn a lot of calories walking. I am trying to walk 10,000 steps per day. I have added a 1.2 mile loop at lunch and walk 1.5 miles per work day back and forth from the train. What I need to work on is getting some walking done on the weekends. DH walks a lot so I guess I should buckle down, or lace up as it were, and join him.
