Thanks for the info on the Iditawalk. My dog will love that.

There is also Iditawalk. It is a walk to honor the Iditarod dog race. The idea originally was to walk the dog but you can walk without a dog also. It is just 30 minutes a day (about) for a total of 1049 minutes which is the total miles of the Iditarod during February and March.

The weather starts to warm up soon and days are longer. It isn't hard and when you used to walk, I'll bet you went right after work before you got distracted. I know that is when I'm most successful.

See if there are any walking groups in your area. Join up and then you have a commitment once or twice a week. Or call a girl friend and ask if she wants to meet to walk one night a week or day on the weekend. I find my Saturday morning walking group is fun and it forces me up and out the door early.

I love the ideas. Will have to try the Dr appointment one...lol That might keep me going. Maybe I need to take a change of clothes to work with me, as the other problem is once I get home, I don't want to go out anywhere. Hmmm I will have to work on that one as well.

I've started to walk around the production floor for about 15 minutes twice a day and I can log a good 2000 steps doing that at a fast clip. I usually take my cellphone with me and it looks like I'm busy working - it's been working out great. That + walking to and from lunch (to the nearby salad place in a strip mall) I can usually hit 10k before I even get home at night. Works out great!

I also used to have the problem my job was very very physical and some days I was just spent however I had made an appointment with myself for 30 minutes a day and that seemed to work. I treated it literally like a Dr. appointment you wouldn't miss that so I kept going then I started to look forward to it. My time and I would get on the treadmill and sort of meditate it worked.
Took me a while but it paid off.

Hello everyone. I was doing good a few yrs back with my walking and aquafit. Then not sure what happened but planning on getting back into it for Feb. 1st. I do a lot of walking at work well over the 10,000st required, and when I get home I just don't want to walk any more. The weight I loss has come back, so need to get walking again.
