Welcome. Walking to and from work and while working is great. You need 30-60 minutes of continuous movement to get aerobic effect and fat burning effect.
I do best when I pack my food and snacks for work. I also take a water bottle and drink my water during the day. When I get tempted with other food, I can say, "sorry, I brought my lunch." Not bringing cash also helps.

Eating out of control is one of my problems too. I have been walking just not enough - especially with the time change now. As far as food distract yourself from the bad stuff by walking for two minutes every time you are tempted. An record everything it really makes a difference. Or after meals especially dinner brush your teeth so you are not tempted to eat anything else.

Hi, This is all new to me. Blogging, this site, forums, etc. If anyone is willing to help me, I'll take it.
I have been dieting all my life only to gain it back and more. One of the things I enjoy is walking. Getting myself out there to do it is another thing. I try to walk to work which is a mile one way. Then I'm on my feet all day so I can get 10,000 steps in a day, but its not helping as my eating is out of control. Any suggestions on motivating myself to get out and walk. I am also looking for a buddy system, if anyone is interested.
