When I was in my 20's, I would walk everywhere. I didnt drive & I still don't. My 88 year old Mother whom I take care of, never drove either. I was a size 8 before my daughter was born over 24 years ago too and I felt sooooo good. I was age 26. I'm not trying to get my youth back, that will never happen. BUT I do want my health back. My right leg (See blog) has been giving me fits along with Arthritis I have had since I was age 24. I am now 50. I've stayed home MOST of my life, and tho it was/is nice at times, It still isn't the healthiest thing, for me, especially now. The Internet is addicting for me, and I don't get the NEEDED exersize or walking. Heart conditions run in both sides of my family and I want to keep from things developing in that area also. I can feel my body deteriorate in Arthritis aspect. My Doctor says to get up and MOVE IT!
But am tempted to sit on the computer. It's like, food. Eating red meats, I KNOW I shouldn't eat so much of them, But IF I DO, then I CHOOSE to keep eating them. Ok, thus the computer. I was recently told BY MY Doctor, that I have Trochanteric Bursitis in my hip, & IF I don't get it under control, I WILL see a Hip replacement in my future. I don't want that either. She gave me exersizes and they work. I feel I am regaining my leg back from pain. I am deleting SOME of my teams I am on for this reason of NOT having an IN HOME computer as of: 6/4 2010. I am not deleting this team, I need you. Whenever you do see me online, it will be from the Library Internets. This will give me a nice little walk to the Library also. I'm walking the stores more often when I can too. Where there is a will, there is a way. Thank you Jesus, I want too & I NEED to get healthier.

Thanks for your encouragement. It's funny, I feel so guilty eating the spark way. Being able to eat a piece of toast with breakfast is amazing. Portion control is going to be the hard part for me. I do have a digital scale to help with this, so no excuses though.
Hi, I am a 47yr old mother of 1, step-mother of 3. I am a shift worker and I am getting sick of the fitness and diet roller coaster. In 2005 I went on the South Beach Diet, got very diligent about exercising and lost 45lbs, then I plateaued. I stayed the same weight for a year which was frustrating. I started to get tired of the restrictive diet (I really do like bread) and my body was very sore (I was running alot). So now after gaining 25lbs back, I am ready to get into shape in a healthy way that I can carry on for life. I still like to run, just not as often or as hard as before, but my favourite thing is getting out and walking.
